Hardley-Davidson is only able to focus on one product, cruisers. According to Cycle World, another company has been making them better. LOL http://www.cycleworld.com/motorcycle_roadtest/ten_ best_bikes_2010/best_cruiser_triumph_thunderbird_1 600 |

Good stuff, Triumph is definitely moving in the right direction with their bikes, which can't be said for H-D (horrible decisions). |

The radiator is ugly. Given the opportunity, I would still take a Wide Glide over that bike. As much as I hate what HD did to Buell, I still have yet to find a bike I like more then the HD Wide Glide. Then again I am not buying the bike for performance, I got the Buell for that Top 5 bikes I would like to own and keep forever. 1. Buell M2 (and I got one) 2. 2003 Black HD Wide Glide 3. Yamaha DR 650 4. Kawasaki Ninja 1000cc (the newer the better) 5. A Captian America replica Yeah, that's pretty much what my dream garage would look like. |

Two years in a row,...Awesome!!! Congrats to Triumph. I'd love to see their Rocket III vs. any Hardley, but then again it would kinda be a mismatch. British Muscle vs. Milwaukee impotence. |

Back in March I attended a Triumph TBird training class in NW Georgia, including about 3 hrs saddle time on several Tbirds. I'm not really a "cruiser guy", I lean towards nakeds & sport tourers. The Tbird left me very impressed, more then enough power (esp. the big-bore version) & the best handling I've ever experienced on a cruiser. I can see one parked next to my X1 in the garage. Fit & finish is outstanding, available ABS & reasonably priced... (Message edited by bbbob on July 15, 2010) |

I really like the Thunderbird, and after dumping all my Harley (spit) products after they closed the Buell factory, I do feel a void in my garage. The only thing that holds me back is it weighs more than my Honda ST1300, OUCH! Beautiful bike though, drop a few pounds and it would be in my garage! |

I have to agree with koz, that thunderbird is ugly. Would much rather own a wide glide also if i was to have a cruiser |

touche Trevd, should I give congrats to Hardley or Porche? I wasn't thinking cruisers on a race track. You heard them admit that the bikes were out of place and they were not built for cornering. I would like to see 'em both go at it in a straight line. Hell, I pass v-rods all the time at the gap. I could easily pass a Rocket III in the corners while it would kill me in the straights. As far as Milwaukee's V-twin, hell I've seen bicycles pass them. |

Bart, If you haven't demo ridden the Thunderbird yet, do so, don't let the weight be an issue, it holds it's weight very low...the ride will surprise you... |

I like the new Tbird a lot. And the 8-ball and the Rocket III and the M109R and the Street Bob, all pretty much equally. Be quite happy with any of them. Rating cruisers is like dancing about architecture. It's about how they sing to your eyes and heart - not the performance - which is limited by ground clearance and suspension travel on all of 'em. |
