Got to see the Scorpions on their farewell tour last night. REALLY great show. At 62 years of age, Klaus Meine's voice was as crisp and striking as it was back in the day. Thank you, you bunch of crazy Germans, for bringing me some of the soundtrack of my youth. |

I saw them in concert many many years ago, they sound as good live as they do on disk. One of my favorite bands. |

I just saw Iron Maiden a few weeks ago, first time since I was 17. 60+ year old guys moving around on stage like youngsters, jumping and running around the whole time and generally just putting on a damned good show. I was very impressed, to say the least. Wish I could see the Scorps but that's just not in the stars for me... edit: for the record, I thought this thread was going to be about tires.... Meine's english hasn't gotten any better in 62 years. Then again, my German isn't what it used to be. It was really cool seeing them perform. I felt like they were getting as much or more from the audience than they gave as a performance. They showed footage of concerts dating back to 1983, old album covers, video of the band doing rock band stuff (riding on buses, getting on airplanes, riding in helicopters, etc.). Just like we were bathed in the memories of the music and the events that were going on at the time, I felt like they were drinking in not only us as an audience but every audience since the beginning. There were many songs in which they repeated parts of the chorus just to be able to sing them with the audience. Like neither the audience nor the band wanted the night to end. I don't know. It was just really cool. |

Saw them at "Legend Valley" back in 1984 (a big field east of Columbus with a stage) Kick Axe Fastway Quiet Riot and the Scorpions Drunk was in the air along with some skunk smelling stuff.... from what I'm told, I had a good time |

Someone blazed up within 30 seconds of the Scorpions set starting. Cops showed up about 3 joints too late. |

The cops showed up for someone smoking a few bones at a concert?! Man, if they were that strict up here, I would have been doing life without parole. At 15! |

They didn't really care that they were smoking pot. They cared that someone was smoking in a non-smoking building. The second hand smoke police are no joke. |

I miss the old Starwood Amphitheater. Brought a whole new meaning to "grass seats". |

Ratt opened for the Scorpions. My first concert was Ratt in 1986. Ratt didn't age as well. The lead singer looked like saddle leather stretched over a broom handle. |

What?! Did they close Starwood (or whatever douche sponsored name they called it recently) out there in Antioch? Got to see the 2nd Lollapalooza tour there- Alice in Chains preceded Primus- during the AIC set, folks discovered that the giant wax coated paper beer cups would burn in a bonfire. After a while there were about a dozen beer cup bonfires all over the grass area- I'll never forget that!!! Fats- where did the Scorpions play? Municipal? Sounds like a killer time! |

Starwood been gone for quite a while. The neighbors bitched about the noise (even though the houses were built after the theater). No one plays at Municipal any more. Maybe rap shows. The show was at the Bridgestone Arena (Sommet Center, Gaylord Entertainment Center, etc.). |

Yeah...Starwood is long gone. Just a big empty lot now. They bulldozed it. Very, very sad....saw Duran Duran, Billy Joel, James Taylor, .38 Special, Marshall Tucker Band, Poison, Motley Crue, Elton John, and a gaggle of other acts there. Great place to see a concert. Once it was raining like crazy and people in the grass seats were peeing in the grass. Felt sorry for the people at the bottom of the hill. |

Scorpions still got it! I saw them 2 weeks ago in NH with my kids and we all loved the show! Vince Neil opened and (other than to low a mike setting) was very good!

I saw the Scorpions in 1978 with Black Foot and Ted Nugent it was their first tour here in the USA. I still have the concert ticket stub from the Capital Center in DC. Frisbees flew, maryjane passed down the rows of seats. it was crazy. K |

I saw scorps in 88 at the monsters of rock tour with van halen, metallica, and a few other bands. Someone threw something on stage and they stopped the show for about 5 minutes while the lead singer called everyone in the audience assholes. I haven't liked them since. Granted, a band should be able to play without assholes throwing things on the stage, but come on, they should be used to stoned teenagers throwing stuff. Man up. |

Depends on what they threw. If it was a bag of poop, I'd be pissed too. |

I once started a sizable brawl with a dork that was throwing full cans of beer into the crowd at a Thin Lizzy concert. First worthwhile scars. |
