All of you who say you would take her, just say the word. BWB has shown in the past that we can get things done for fellow bikers. I'm in this case it can happen again. Prior is doing the right thing here. Just say the word |

Prior, What the word, does Bella have a new home yet? |

We do not have a new home for Bella yet. I received PMs from a number of people, but so far one has not panned out. Bella is a sweetheart, and so it Tyson, her companion. Tyson is going to be fixed and get the rest of his shots Thursday, Bella's appointment for the same thing is next Tuesday. Those two things need to happen before the Humane Society will allow us to put them up for adoption on their website. For now, they've both been hanging out on the front porch and enjoying having 2 square meals a day, fresh water and a LOT of attention from Heather since she's got the summer off. A few asked how they got along with other people/dogs- We had about 15 people and two other dogs at the house Sunday night for a 4th of July celebration. They both warmed up to everyone very quickly and got over the whole territory thing with the other dogs in about 5 minutes. They really were the life of the party! |

We do not have any cats. With the animal farm growing the way it is, give us a week or so! |

Hey Prior, put up the pic of Tyson. He'll melt hearts all over the country. They are both so gorgeous. I hope you find a home for them both soon. |

This is Bella's sidekick, Tyson. I did not originally put a pic of him up here since Bella is the one in more immediate need of a home (other dogs are fighting her), and he wasn't hanging around the house as much as Bella. He's a boxer mix, probably also 4 months or so old and I think he's going to be a big boy. He's headed in today to be fixed and get the rest of his shots. He's very friendly with people and other dogs, but is a bit timid at times. Both of these guys have had a rough start to life and just want a place to call home. I do not know if either of them are house trained (they've certainly not spent the night in a real house in a month and a half), but are good about getting outside when they spend the night in the garage- at least they haven't left us any presents...
Heather and I would love to keep them, but right now there's no way we can handle two of them, and my work and Heather's travel schedule this summer are not very conducive to training them properly or spending enough time with them. |

Kim and I talked about it...and as much as we love the pics of Bella, four would just be too many for us. And I think a third hyper young dog would give our 15 year old Aussie mix a heart attack We are trying to find someone for her, though - asking everyone we can think of. I can't tell you how great it is that you're doing all this for the pups. Very, very cool. |

Joe, Completely understandable. We don't want to give the current family any coranary conditions. We've got them both on facebook now too, and will be hitting other media sources in the area too- they're already two famous strays! Mark, You know we're not all that far apart and Charlestown, WV isn't all that bad a place to visit... Tyson's back from the vet and is doing well- he's got all his shots and is missing, well, he just got back from the vet... we'll leave it at that. He's back to playing in the yard, chasing bugs and snuggling back up to Heather. He's a trooper! Alex |

Mossy, WV. Exit 60 would be about a even split.... yeah.. I've been on map quest I've got 3 dogs and 3 cats..... it wouldn't be a responsible thing for me to do I'm sure they will find a good home.... but I do have a soft spot for the pups..

Well technically only two dogs and a wiener on loan Wolf Gator could have a new playmate?

A lot of if's here but if M2statz is serious about traveling and Badlionsfan is correct in the geography (looking at a map I'm assuming it's Lexington KY.) and Prior is anywhere close to Cary NC. The family and I will be coming back from there on 7-26 and I'd be willing to bring her back. Well for anyone closer inland I'd be willing to add an extra passenger on the way home. I'm 35 miles east of Lex. Ky. |

Mike and I have bounced a number of emails back and forth on this... This weekend's not going to work for either of us to make the drive and next weekend we've got family in town. The 19th, ironically, I am flying to Iowa, and likely flying into Madison, but cannot transport her up there on the plane due to carrier temperature requirements (cannot fly a dog as cargo if it's over 75 degrees, unless it's through a special climate controlled cargo service which is only at a few airports). And Uncle John's pretty picky about renting a car to do the drive, but will still look into that more. HOWEVER- If you are driving from Cary to Lexington, KY, you drive within about 5 miles of my home. We are scheduled to be on vacation that week at the beach with even more family, but I could certainly have someone watch her for a few days when I'm gone and then come back to town to hand her off. Kyrocket, Shooting you a PM so I can get your email address and we can get the conversation started. Alex |

I believe we are still in need of two good homes for these beautiful pups. Can anyone help? There's gotta be a safe home missing a perfectly good pet/guard dog out there somewhere? |

Vampress, We're working on a plan to get Bella (and maybe Tyson too) up to Madison WI. A few Badwebbers have come through with a transportation plan to get them at least part of the way there and we are working on the rest. For now, they're VERY happy enjoying my company...

Tyson is ADORABLE!! I wish I could be we don't have a house yet, my first addition to our house once we get it will be a rescue dog. I have been thinking greyhound but if a dog like Tyson were to show up in front of me I would be unable to say no the same goes for Bella but something about Tyson pulls my heart strings (Message edited by delta_one on July 11, 2010) |

I wish I could....been a dog person with cats for a long time now...travel too much... I'd be happy to volunteer to assist in part of the transit if the route is anywhere close.... |

Well if that falls through I'm still willing to take them (yes, both) in Sept after we get back to the States. |

That would be nice if they could stay together. They seem to be happy enough where they are for now. What's a few weeks? |

Steve, We'll take you up on that if we can't figure out a way to get them up to Madison. Big challenge is we've got to find something to do with them for a week while we're out of town, but I am sure we can find a friend to stop by and look after them... |

If 'out of town' is Maryland, they're welcome to crash with us for the trip. Ditto on their journey to WI - if it takes 'em through MD we've got a yard, a kiddie pool, and a slew of tennis balls to distract 'em for a night and break up the "car routine" |

Joe, We're actually headed south to one of the NC beaches... We've got another plan in the works that will have one of the pups having a permanent home in the next few weeks, and will even work with us being headed out of town. Alex |

We're very happy that the dogs are going to get to stay together in a permanent home. My wife and I have been talking about Bella. A second dog would be tight for us, but had decided that if she hadn't found a home by now, we'd make arrangements to keep her. The selfless accomplishments of the community on this message board never cease to amaze me. |

Alex, Just let me know. We just want to make sure that they have a good home and if it works out that we can keep them together then all the better. |
