Check out vjmc.org. IMO it's a solid motorcycle. Change oil religiously, bleed brakes; it'll go & go. |

Cool! Thanks Aptbldr. I also joined a yahoo group and a guy is going to help me with syncing the carbs and understanding that. I can't hook a laptop up to this one. So used to fuel injection. This bike reminds me of my old 80's ninjas I used to have. |

If it idles smoothly and idles down after you rev it up....the carbs are in sync...no worries, ride it. |

There is a decent little forum for the Nighthawk 700S models at http://nighthawk-forums.com/index.php |

Yeah, it is weird when you are not used to winding a bike up. I ride my M2 around usually between 3,500 and 5,500 RPM. I rode a Yamaha R1 and felt like I had no clue what I was doing. I was shifting all over the place for the first few minutes before I felt comfortable. |

I know what you mean. I went about a 1/2 mile and I was in 6 speed (OD) Shifting like I was in an 18 wheeler. I look down and I'm shifting at 4-5K. Wonder where I got that habit from? |

Well - You'll never guess what happened. I had the money for the two 85 nighthawks. ($1500) The day I am going to pick them up I spot this 98 Suzuki Bandit GSF1200S. It's got 17K on it and it's been professionally re-painted, Full micron exhaust and a corbin touring seat with backrest. It also has a new chain and it's a Hyabusa chain. so stronger than the stock one. Always been garaged. Only bad thing. It's sat for 2 years. Has smelly gas and I'll have to replace the battery. I picked it up for $1800. I'll have to post a new topic about it I suppose! |
