i would love to have a multistrada in my stable. even an early model - no way i can afford the latest hoh-cooled model. it's on my short-list of used bikes, if i decide i can splurge a bit and go over my self-imposed limit of $3k and push it to $5k or so. sure, the multistrada is not as elegant looking as a sport classic, monster, ss, or supermotard for example, but still a really cool looking bike, imo. and performance-wise, i think it's as good or better than anything in its class. ymmv, doug s. I owned a Multistrada 1000S for five years... really liked the bike. I also thought it ugly. Never bothered me, tho, as I spent little time looking at it; just rode the snot out of this very capable motorcycle. | ||

My opinion of the Multistrada . . .having never ridden one . . .has always been pretty much based on Reg's opinion. I don't recall the words but something to the effect . . "it's a REALLY capable ugly motorcycle". I'd own one simply based on that. I long ago lost my looks . . no reason holding the bike to any standard beyond "really capable.". Works for me. | ||

I think it looks allright. The snorkels out in the wind look a little funny, but it doesn't look horrible. IMO.  | ||

 I agree with Reg. Wonderful bike, but I have to be able to look at my ride over the top of a beer too. I think the uly is better looking from most angles. Neither are that flash from the front quarter. (Message edited by danger_dave on July 12, 2010) | ||

It may sound shallow, but I don't care how good the bike performs, if it is ugly, I can't buy it. The pods on the 1125 kept me on a XB, and I couldn't be happier, now that I have an IL4 for my "need for speed". I do lust after a full faired 1125R though.  | ||

the old multistrada, imo, is ok, looking, neither ugly nor great looking. tons of interesting stuff, to keep your attention. kinda like the uly. i could easily buy either. if you want eyesore, imo, look no further than the 1125's either r or cr. now there's some fugly bikes. but, w/their performance and now wholesale pricing, i am tempted. the new multistrada is a stunner, imo - absolutely fantastic looking. afaik, it is the 1999-2007 900ss duc's that i have a hard time looking at - not as bad as the buell 1125's but still pretty bad... ymmv, doug s. I stopped into the local Duc shop today and they have a demo model...I'll be heading back with gear soon. |
