how much tread depth does a new pirelli tire have front/rear?

reason i ask is cuz the optional tire warranty only covers you if your tire still has 3/32 thread depth. (from the pamphlett) i called my local stealership for clarifacation, and i was accusinlgy questioned as to if i had been doing bun-outs before i received the answer that it is 3/32 measured in the center of the tire.

last night; i measured the rear tire tread at 2/32 in the center, 3/32 on the right-center, 3/32 far right edge, 4/32 on the left-center, and 3/32 on the left edge.

the front was just less than 2/32 all the way across.

and this is at ~3,500 mi on a pair of diablo corsas

ok, i just called the local cycle gear after re-reding my own post.

the lady was nice enough to check several brands/models and the concensus was 6/32, using a penny as a tread depth gauge.

at the going rate i have used 1/3 of the initial tread left. an estimated 1,750 more miles to go before my tire is completley bald. i'm sure riding styles, super-slabbing vs back-roads, climates and conditions factor heavily into this.

but it seems pretty fair to replace a 'half-used'
