I'm just wondering if anyone else has the same difficulty with FedEx that I have.... I have lived in this house for 14 years. And have YET to have a packaged delivered ON time to my correct address from FedEx. It's not like it's a new subdivision. This house has been here for 110 years. Right off a major highway through town. So Yesterday, my wife stayed home all day to await a package that was SUPPOSED to be delivered, but wasn't. The Driver stated he ATTEMPTED delivery and left one of those tags on our door. When talking with their customer service, I told them they may have put a tag on A door. But not ours. <sigh> I've NEVER had a single problem with USPS, UPS, or DHL. But have never had any luck with FedEx. |

I have always had less than spectacular service with Fedex. UPS while not spotless has been good, never had an issue with the mailman. |

The only problem I have ever really had with them, is they leave the packages at the front door when all other deliveries go on the back porch out of sight. I have been waiting on a package from Canada for almost 2 weeks now, however I was not given a delivery date. I would be a little hot about it if I was in your shoes tho. |

FedEx Ground or Express? FedEx Ground is a completely different animal and not as reliable as UPS Ground, IMHO. |

It's ground. But I've had the same luck with 2nd day, and next day service from them. The last time I had a package "delivered" here, they delivered it to the retirement home down the street. The time before that, I have no idea WHERE they delivered it, but it was later(3 days)delivered to me by a supervisor. The time before that, it was some plants my wife ordered, and they sat in a warehouse for over a week, and died. |

FedEx is stupid around here too. They have a hub in Orlando, a hub in Lakeland and have a hub in Tampa. Majority of things I buy online will come from North of me. Instead of FedEx stopping in Lakeland from Orlando, they pass through Lakeland, hit Tampa and then come back to Lakeland. I don't use them if I don't have too. |

They all suck. UPS sucks less than FedEx and USPS. |

I ordered a new ECM from Erik Buell Racing yesterday morning...the brown truck rolled into my shop parking lot this morning at 9:51am. But the delivery guy has been around forever...he knows where we are...if you use a GPS for our address, it sends you to a vacant lot down the road. I had ordered another item that was shipped Fed-Ex (not from Erik Buell Racing) and if I hadn't requested a phone call, I would never have gotten it on time...I chased the truck down when it went by..(Saturday morning delivery)(I was watching for it). |

If you can do it have them deliver to where you work. I either have items sent to my work place or my wifes according to size. |

FedEx is f***ing stooooopid. They've delivered stuff to me plenty of times without an issue, but my most recent experience with them still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Ordered flowers for the girlfriend - I'm tracking it online, at 10:30am it says they tried to deliver but couldn't. Keep in mind, this was going to a building for the State gov't -huge complex, no issues finding the place if you know what I mean. I call FedEx, they say they couldn't deliver it because it didn't have a name on it. Odd. So I call the flower place, they say they sent the name. So I call FedEx back, same story, no name. I'm thinking, it still has an address AND the state agency it was going to - there was no reason not to leave it with their mail room. She tells me I can pick it up today if I'd like. Apparently "anytime after 7:00pm" is "today", not "tonight". Anyways - I show up to claim the package. She takes my ID, and I tell her I can see the box since it has "FLOWERS" printed all over it. She brings it over, and says, "Katie?" Are you kidding me? Her name is on the friggin' box. I tell her that's it. Then she tells me she can't give it to me because my name is nowhere on it. DUH. It was sent BY the flower place TO Katie. Says I need a written note. By this time I just about lose it. I say, "You're giving me the damn box", and before she can finish saying "no I'm not" I say, "you guys told me her name wasn't on it and that's why you couldn't deliver it, and I'm staring at her damned name on the label right now." Then she spouts off about some crap about how she didn't tell me anything (no crap, I know it wasn't you specifically I spoke to) and they couldn't deliver it because Katie's name wasn't on the building's directory. Are you kidding me. How many of you have had a package delivered to your house and the delivery guy asks for ID? I could send a box to Joe Blow at the white house and it would get there no problem with any other carrier. Anyways, after some phone tag, the woman allowed me to take the package with Katie's consent and off I went. Like I said, FedEx SUCKS. USPS is where it's at, and that's only because UPS is so much more expensive. Long post, sorry. |

Mark, I had a similar situation right before Xmas with Fedex. I ordered some GPS units and other stuff, some of them required a signature confirmation. I called up and requested they hold the packages as they would only attempt to deleiver when nobody was home. So I drive an hour + cross the bridge (toll) to get to the Fedex place, and they only have two of the 3 packages, neither of them were the one that needed a signature. I lost it when I found out they attempted to deliver it again, and of course I wasn't around to receive it. PC-nation also blows chunks, they refused to release the signature requirement. |

My experience with Fed Ex is similar. I think that they are overpriced underperformers. |

Not had any trouble with FedEx or UPS here. We regularly order perishable goods, sushi from Cali, and it always arrives as expected. |

Fedex = overpriced, marginal service UPS = fairly priced, better than average service. Refer to the Chappelle's Show episode with the "Pop Copy" sketch for a full rundown on the customer service at Fedex. |

my house was built in 1806, and as far as I know has been here, on this spot, ever since. I have had fedex tell me that my address doesn't exist??? |

I have very rarely had any trouble with the service from either Fedex Ground or UPS Ground. Actually, I am quite amazed how accurate the projected delivery date has been over the year...and I order ALOT of stuff over the internet. USPS Priority mail for any "oversize" parcel is completely ridiculous (and it ain't really that oversize...UPS and Fedex charge "normal" size rates for the same parcel) . We are talking 2-3 times the cost of either Fedex or UPS. |

Ground is iffy. Air, I'll always have sent to the depot and held for pickup. That is how I ALWAYS go with UPS - Because FedEX air and ground (formerly Roadway) are different animals, they have different depot systems. Ground won't have shipments shipped-to and held-at the depot. |

Same here, Fedex delivered a package across the street. My house was built here in 1917... long before they were messing up deliveries. |

UPS Period. I used to be a bit ambivalent but the way UPS does business and treats their employees totally changed my mind. My son worked at the UPS hub here in Maple Grove for about 9 months before he went into the Navy. It was a tough time in Carl's life, just out of highschool, no desire (motivation)to go to college, basically kind of floundering a bit. The constant was his evening job at UPS, full benefits and all. Then he decided to enlist in the Navy. UPS has a policy that if you work there and go into the military, you will have a job when you get out. They hold your spot for 60 months (5 years). After 1 phone call, they held his spot for another year as Carl did 6 instead of 5. When he returned to work, he now had 6+ years of tenure and seniority at UPS. Full benefits, 2 weeks vacation the whole thing. On top of that, they have a tuition reimbursment program. Bottom line, while Carl knocks off all his generals at the local community college all his school tuition is paid in full. He can save his GI bill for the final push at the U of M. When he gets his degree (hopefully in physics and engineering) he will leave school with NO debt. So for me and everyone I can convince, it's Brown all the way. Brad (Besides, you ought to see the evening UPS pickup driver at work, WAY cuter than the FedX gal.. She looks REALLY good in those brown shorts..) (Message edited by bluzm2 on July 10, 2010) |

I'm sorry I won't hear a word against USPS, their international service is top notch, & I've never had any trouble whatsoever. As for Fedex, well they're next to last resort carrier, I used to drive for them several hundred moons ago in another land, so I know what they're like. Last resort is Useless Parcel Service, I now think I know why their vehicles & uniforms are brown. I think it has to do with them being so utter crap! |

"The only problem I have ever really had with them, is they leave the packages at the front door when all other deliveries go on the back porch out of sight." That reminds me, I've been expecting a FEDEX package for a few days now. Wonder if they left it at the back door? G |

Our UPS guy knows us. He will always hide my packages out of sight from the street, and he calls me on my cell phone to let me know where he put it. The FedEx truck always has a different person in it, and they will put it somewhere else every damn time. They never call me, even though my phone number is on every shipping label. |

I ship about 1000 pounds a month with fed ex. They have only lost one in 2 years. I do have a few tricks on how to not get a package lost. Its a about 20 or so cases I overnight all around the U.S. My main problem is the bitchy attitude I get when I drop off 70lbs cases @ the FedEx stores. They bitch that the cases are too heavy. I tell them I pay by the pound and they can figure it out or hire more help. I have almost got into fights @ the fedex stores. |

I've had very good service from FedEx, UPS but not so much with the USPS. I guess it depends on where your at and which store. Like a Harley/buell Dealer. |
