After 3 trips to NYC, I finally made it to the Dinosaur! The food was most excellent, but better yet, the people! We walked up and sat right down at a 'first come first serve' table outside, the wait for a table inside was over an hour and a half! It was sunny and hot, but that only lasted half an hour and the sun was gone. Of the folks waiting, I saw one couple looking for a table outside, I invited them to sit with us, and it was the best whim I've ever had. These folks were amazing. Super nice, super cool. Both Alicia and I ended up getting the "pulled pork, beef brisket, and ribs" combo. I got the 4 beer sampler, which I think every bar/restaurant should offer. I don't love beer, but I love trying new types, and this little sampler was perfect for that. Our new friends got all kinds of food, appetizers, this, that... forcing us to try it all! Deviled eggs (amazing!) chicken wings (amazing!) you get the idea. Then they got Mojitos. I've never had a good mojito before, but sitting out under the hot sun, those Mojito's looked amazing. I finished my beer sampler, and promptly ordered a mojito for my next drink, Alicia did the same! Then our new friends bought a round. Then I bought a round, then they bought a round... Needless to say, we were there for 3 hours, and had a fantastic time! Big thanks to all on here for the recommendation! |

Don't forget us in Syracuse. We have a Great Dinosaur Bar-B-Cue, at a Great crossroads (Rt.81/NYS Thruway), and close to the Great New York State Fair. |

The Syracuse Dinosaur is the original. After a great meal, you can go over a couple of blocks and check out the Mohawk power and Light Building. It is one of the most spectacular examples of Art Deco Architecture that I've ever seen. I'd love to see what Court or Mike could do with their cameras. |

I'm from Syracuse area and love the original... but the one here in Rochester is pretty damn good too! a little more roomy than 'Cuse and a nice outside area as well. |

Vampress, I would really like to get you some ribs, but I know that if I sent you some they wouldn't make it, and that makes me sad! |

Yeah Dinosaur is Good Stuff. I am pysched they have started building one right up the street in Troy, Should be a good location, in the old fresno's building, right along the Hudson. Their bottle sauces are pretty decent. I tend to make at least 1 set of Ribs using wango tango... |

I can name 6... Of the NYC and 'Cuse locations I've been to, I do prefer the original - I think the food was a little better and the typical wait staff was a bit easier on the eyes, lol. Doon - we'll have to see if we can get folks up this way when the one in Troy opens in the fall. I'm so close to it, I'm going to gain like 17 lbs that week. |

xl1200r, yep I going to have to start fasting now. just to avoid the weight gain. It would be about 13miles from my place, so close enough that I Don't need to ride to 'cuse. But Then again taking the back way to 'cuse (via speculator, newport, and the like is a fun ride ) As for the picture,I pretty sure I can name em all (at least BW handles.... ) |

Tramp, I don't know how you missed the invitation to Lemonchili and Vampress' luncheon at the Dinosaur. I know you weren't active on BadWeb at the time but you were a member of the Facebook group, and the invite went out to everyone who belonged to the group. Sorry you missed the event and we missed you! |

That has a good ring to it! It does; doesn't it? Where is the Lobster Roll, and do they serve food that isn't seafood? (I'm allergic to seafood) |

Jamie- My FB settings may have caused the disconnect....MY bad! For those unfamiliar with it, the Lobster Roll is in Napeague, which is, essentially, the strand of dunes on the west side of Montauk ("The End"). While the chow is outstanding, the ride is a flat, straight, boring run on the LIE (Long Island Expressway). I say: "Who cares?" Great Chow and Great company are worth it...plus I'll find out all we need on New England ferry service...for all youze NEBO types. |

I'm thinking August or September. I'd like to set it up for right after Labour day, as thee's a cool timeshare place ON the beach behind the Lobster Roll where we could get a great rate. I like to stay over when I get out there....breakfast at John's Pancake House in Montauk...but let's see when's good for most |
