Bella showed up at our house right after homecoming, starving, thirsty and in need of a place to lay her head. One of our neighbors picked Bella, and her friend Tyson, up on the side of the road and for some reason brought them home to leave them outside and in general, just not take care of them. Sometime while I was gone for Homecoming, they were served with a foreclosure notice and moved out of the house- and left 3 dogs. She's a sweet girl, and has been spending the night in our garage for the last week or so. We'd love to keep her, but we've got a number of other dogs that roam the neighborhood that have taken to beating up on poor Bella and it's just not a safe place for her to call home. She was at the vet today, she's right about 4 months old, 35 lbs, expected to be around 55-60 when fully grown. She's got a rabies shot, worm shot and some antibiotics to take care of a few of the little wounds she had from the encounter with the neighborhood pack. She can't really go to a shelter as they are all full. Would anyone like to make a nice home for miss Bella? Shoot me a PM, or text or call (cell is in the BRAN)...

Wish I could. She looks like a sweet pup. Are there no "no kill" shelters in the area? http://www.nokillnetwork.org/d/North-Carolina |

I had a Bella that passed away about 7 months ago after giving birth to her litter. She was a door knocker as well. Luckily we have Murdock, her 8 month old son with us to keep her memory alive. My wife would kick my ass, but if I was closer I'd take her in a heartbeat. |

Jeremy, There are a few local places that we called that are on that list- problem is that they are all full and actually have a waiting list. We're taking the two pups over to the county humane society tomorrow morning to have their pics taken and get them on the list to get in the shelter- no idea how long that may take, nor how long the list is. Most of these places don't have drop boxes anymore, they are so overwhelmed as-is. Jesse and Ken I am more than willing to drive a few hundred miles with her to make sure she finds a good home. Wow, she looks like the best dog ever. I currently don't have a house, and when I get to Georgia I'll be at an extended-stay hotel until I do find one. I wish I could do something... dammit |

She looks a lot like my dog, colors and shape wise. He's getting old and has some health issues, dont know if he'll make the trip back to the US or not. If I was coming back sooner than Sept I'd take her. |

whoever left the dog, I hope they have trouble sleeping at night! Animals deserve better owners than that! |

Grrr....guess I'll have to show this thread to Kim when she gets home.... We've got two adopted pups already - my 15 year old Aussie mix, and Morgan, our 11 month black-and-white "something" - along with our pug...but she looks so sweet. Ever get up to Maryland? |

Joe, Heather and I are both from Hanover, PA, not far at all from you. We do get home a few times a year and could certainly arrange a trip up that way. Monday Bella and her friend Tyson are going in to be fixed and get the rest of their shots. I've replied back to a few PMs, you guys rock!!! |

I got a dog like that. Foreclosure and all. It is hard to get someone to take an older dog. Poor K9. It was the best dog I ever had, except it would eat the door frame during a thunderstorm. |

How far are you willing to travel? Where is half way between you and Madison Wi? We are down to our last rescue dog. We found him sitting next to a bridge just outside of Ashland Oregon 14 years ago. |

Depending on where he is in NC, half way is probably somewhere around Lexington |

This board is the finder of homes for lost doggies! I'm sure most of us remember the tale of Taos' journey halfway across the country! |

call the animal rights activists, and tell them your going to shoot bella if they don't find a good home for her. They get people locked up for being inhumane to animals, so this should be their problem free of charge, or they should be locked up! |

That's really cool Toona. I hadn't seen any of that before. I can only get onto the first page though...is there more or was another thread started. I would love to see how Taos ended up on the journey p.s Bella is beautiful. If only we were a little closer. |

Cool. Thanks Toona. I love a happy ending. It feels nice to be surrounded by other dog and cat people. We got to see some beautiful (and spoilt) pets across the U.S on our trip, including Bob the shop-cat, SuperJack, Bruiser, Gator (and even Weiner), Isabelle, Sparky, ST and Isabelle (of the L.A clan). It was nice to have a little furry company away from home. |
