Like I've told ya before Froggy, I had a windows phone before I got the original iPhone. For me, it was a point of no return, the iPhone does more easier than the windows thing.
Anything Windows and 2 years old I would run from...fast!
HAHA!
Alright on a serious note, about 15 months ago I bought a Mac mini for me and a Toshiba notebook for the wife.
And that little Toshiba is impressive for a Vista running machine ( I forgot to get my free windows 7 upgrade ) Mainly because it's been 15 months and it still works!!! And it seems just as fast as the day we bought it. Our old Toshiba went down the drain by the day!
So I will say the windows system is better then they used to be.
I love my Mac, but I have NO problems using here laptop and sometimes prefer too. It's only a 19" screen versus my macs 42" but sometimes smaller is better?? ( right, that's what the wife tells me anyhow, Haha!)
Windows phone architecture has absolutely nothing in common with the desktop counterpart other than the name. I've been able to use real multi tasking right out the box since version 1, which came out in 2000. Beg enough and Apple might even add basic features like allowing you to change the dialer!
Being the last Windows phone you used was over 3 years ago, you haven't used Windows 6 or 6.5, it is fantastic. I have been playing around a bit with the dev kit for Windows Phone 7, and I quite frankly cant wait! The only thing the Iphone has over Winmo in the past was a prettier interface, but thats a thing of the past .
Most people do. I haven't bought a case for my last phone, they just make it too bulky and gets in the way when you need to swap batteries or memory cards. I love how Apple knew this would be a problem, so they came out with an official case that you can buy. Why the hell isn't it included for free? The phone costs more than a set of XB wheels.
I've had Palm phones, Blackberries, Windows Mobile, and everything in between.
The iPhone is the absolute BEST phone I've ever had. Love it! Now...it's not perfect, but it's dang good. Also have to remember not to blame AT&T's money grubbing ways on the iPhone. I have an unlimited data plan, and AT&T wants to charge me $20 to do tethering. That's crazy!
I'm not someone who reads magazines and takes what they say as truth. I've been an IT manager for nearly a decade and worked in the trenches years before that. I've supported Macs and PC's alike and the quality of Apple products are second to none. Expensive, yes....but quality gear.
Off topic- I hope wire #3 is easier to reinstall after a screen replacement. I just replaced the screen in my friends 3G and that wire is an absolute b#{** to plug in.
i down loaded the imovie app. I've only recorded 1 video, but I wanted to mess around with the app. Here it is, all done on the iphone 4. It's a fun app, worth 5 bucks.
As I said before. I love my EVO. I also really like the new iphone as well. I am just happy that there is competition. I mean if anybody should have an iphone, it is me. I am typing this on an apple wireless keyboard, sitting next to my apple magic mouse, while looking at a 23" studio Display, hooked up to my 17" macbook pro. There is a powerbook and and a mini at home But I really like the android based operating systems. Also the fact that I have my google voice integrated in (when You make a call it asks if I want to use my GV account to make it) id pretty sweet. Running the swype keyboard so I don't have to lift my fingers (Just draw over the letters for form words). and I can "type" pretty fast on it.
And yes froggy there are some nice WinMo phones. The one my friend has is pretty good as well.
Never underestimate the power of the Apple Reality-Distortion field
Tis funny, I've never had an issue with Sprint, but me and AT&T don't get along at all. The AT&T business rep was basically the second person I asked to leave my office (Oracle rep was the first). If the iphone was on someone besides AT&T, I would probably have one..
