Mark and I are here. WHOOO HOOO!!!! we are unloading all of the items for the silent action. Jerry you sent the mother load!!!! people are in for a real treat with this.
Fordrox - if you want to chill in Frederick for the day on Friday, I'm leaving work between 5-6 and riding out. Be happy to have a riding companion...
And for the auction...I found a BOATLOAD of tuber-era stuff. I kept plenty for myself, don't worry, but I still have a TON for the auction. What doesn't go...I'll probably bring home and post in the classifieds. Neat stuff. All paper - brochures, some postcards, some great advertising stuff (from back when BUELL was advertising for Buell!), some stickers...and a nice autographed set.
Anyone already there happen to have the GPS coords. for us folk that have'nt been there before? LAT/LONG will do wonderfully.
Ratbuell, I'm not sure I can burn up that much time, I got the itch and it needs to be scratched badly, though a ride partner would be nice. If I change my mind I'll PM you.
Ya Mark. Deer here start about that time as well. Long as there's not much traffic, the ol' aux lights will be getting a workout! (may just rewire them to the low beam, instead of high beam only...hmmm....).
And can't decide if I should strap on the ol' sidearm for the trip. Y'know...just in case I do tag a deer (that, and it *is* WV after all LOL).
This look like the right destination? The website says "some people have trouble finding us..."
If it is...I'm loaded and ready to roll. Just gotta toss in the toiletries in the AM after my shower...and suffer through a day at work The GPS is tellin' me it's 3:47 from here to there. Gawd, I hope I get out of work early...a 7:00 departure would just be too damned late. Cross your fingers for me, everyone!
Not only did several charter members of the infamous Los Only Boyz C3 Gang pay us a visit tonight on their way to West by-God Virginia, my son Wade was our honored guest tonight, too.
Webe shows how a REAL man lights his ceegar. Yep, he's a soggy bottom boy - SW Virginia was not particularly kind to motorcyclists today...
Denise, Carlost, Webe and Wade - smoke 'em if ya got 'em!
(BTW, if you're keeping score, left to right: 1) Yuengling Original Black & Tan, Pottsville, PA, USA, America's Oldest Brewery, Since 1829; 2) St. Pauli Girl Special Dark, Bremen, Germany; 3) Fat Tire Amber Ale, New Belgium Brewing Co., Fort Collins, CO, USA; 4) Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat, The Pride of Chippewa Falls, WI, USA, Since 1867)
Joe That's close, your mark puts you at the 'west' end of the park. The campground is on the 'east' end of the park. You could go thru the park and you should see the campground on your left. If you go over the bridge and into Harrisville, you've gone too far.
My eyes are all puffy, my head is throbbing, my throat is raw and dry, my sinus' feel like if they stop leaking they may explode, I feel like I might puke.....and I have not even been there yet! AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGH!!!!
I would certainly expect to feel this way after a night of hanging around the fire passing a jar, sipping suds, and sleeping in a tent on damp ground.....but not the day BEFORE!
At present, even with meds to fight it, I am in no condition to drive 400 or so miles. I feel so defeated. Might be able to ride up in the truck tomorrow with the Uly in the back. Time will tell.
Hoping you all are having a great time, I know I missed a super meal tonight, with a bunch of great folks.
Well, I have to say it was an awesome weekend, even if I did start a little late (got there at 11p on Friday). Woke up early Saturday, hit the Lodge for some food (and COFFEE!), and went on an awesome ride for what...four hours or so?
We have roads around here that are comparable...but they're only good for about 4 miles, not four HOURS.
Awesome dinner later that night - thanks Mark and everyone! - and more proof that putting on rain gear will help keep rain away
Back to the campground, managed to light wet wood on fire without blowing anything else up (a minor miracle in itself), sat in the rain and drank; sat under a canopy and drank; sat outside when it wasn't raining and drank...and have had a monster of a headache all day today (so the night must have been a success!).
Made it home about an hour ago, my miniature tent is outside drying, and I'm trying to soak up some vitamin water before I go cut grass.
It was an awesome time. Sorry for those who couldn't make it....but there's always Buelltoberfest!
Here was home-sweet-home, before the skies opened up Saturday evening...
Thanks Ken, I appreciate that. Nice job on the pictures. I can see it was as great as it has been in years past. Next year is marked in my calendar already.
