Well, wife got jealous of my recent Homecoming adventure and when i got home i was told we were going to Vegas now July 15th-20th. Oh, well just punish me why don't ya! This will only be our 2nd time. Both times have been mid July in the heat, so yes, i know it's going to be HOT! Key is stay inside where all the cold beer is and come out at night like Pacman Jones and make it "Rain"! Plan so far when we get there on Thurs is settle in and get ready for Cirque du Soleil that night. Friday night we are going to see TOOL at Planet Hollywood(really the reason why she wanted to go) Sat night headed to Green Valley Ranch to rock out with Steel Panther! Question is....What do we do in the afternoon Fri and Sat. Then the whole day of Sun and Mon for you peeps who live out there or travel there often? We are going to rent a car Fri-Mon. I'm thinking of going to Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon on sunday. Really don't wanna go real far so Grand Canyon is out. Also thought about renting a H-D(booo) to ride on Sunday to Hoover Dam and RRC but i thought about it, and i just can't spend $200 a day for a bike i really wouldn't wanna be on when it's 110 degrees! Any suggestions? |

Having just gotten back from Vegas and the Grand Canyon, I say buck up and hit the Grand Canyon. I spent more than twice as much time there as I thought I would, and I only stopped at one spot. Other ideas... hit "The Gun Store" and try out some serious firepower, or stop by the Silver and Gold Pawn Shop (from the TV show on History). |

There's an indoor kart track behind the Palms. I think it's called Pole Position Raceway. Pretty cool, we go there every year during the SEMA Show. Electric powered Indy car style karts, IIRC 15hp motors, lap timers so you can see how you're doing compared to the others on the track. Helmet required (freebies provided with headsocks). http://www.polepositionraceway.com/vegas/ |

Since you'll be at P.H. eat out at the Pink Taco...seriously. Edit: it's at the Hard Rock, not P.H. Enjoy, Vegas is great. (Message edited by niceguyeddy on June 30, 2010) |

And if you are sushi folks, I guarantee you will be having more than 1 meal at Todai (also in P.H.) Dam you Eddy, now I wanna hotdog... Also, don't hold your breath for the Pawn Stars. On TV the shop looks MUCH bigger and way more glamourous than it really is (sorry if that makes anyone sad, I was just extremely dissapointed with it and don't want anybody else to be) If you have the feet for it, walk the strip...seriously, the whole 4.2 miles. The people and things you see will definitely be worth it. Finally, one of the best things I did was rent a little scooter from one of the scooter rental places and tooled all around Las Vegas. You say you will have a rental car, but having one myself I can tell you it just wasnt quite as fun or entertaining as the scooter. During my 24 hour rental I trippled the miles on it buzzing all around Vegas. Picked it up with 61 and skidded into the lot with over 170. Sorry to keep on going here, but I friggin love Vegas. 2 more quick things that I would recomend over and over to anybody are seeing any one of the Cirque shows (try Ka, you won't be dissapointed) and jumping out of a perfectly good airplane 3 miles above the Nevada desert. Free-falling for over a minute is a feeling that can't be explained, only experienced. With whatever you decide to do, I hope you have a great trip!! |

Yes, Vegas was awesome! Walking the Strip would also come recommended from us. It gives you the chance to see everything up close and personal. We only got about halfway before the daquiris were calling us back, but it was worth the foot mileage. If you time it right you catch all the cool shows on the walk as you go. Just don't go into Caesers Palace and get lost like we did..Lol! |

Niceguy thanks for the reminder of Pink Taco. Went by there last time we where there and I need to get a shirt this time! I also figured Pawn Star shop was small but still wanna check it out! Oh, Vamps and kustom, we did walk the whole strip last time and I'm sure to do it again. Maybe this time we rent scooters like you said kustom. Where is the best place to rent them? |

The Hofbrauhaus Vegas is an exact replica of the famous one in Munich. The food is great, the bands are oom-pah-pah, the steins are full of Bavarian brew (you can sign up for free beer on their website), and the buxom dirndl laden frauleins will spank you with their wooden paddles. It is across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. http://www.hofbrauhauslasvegas.com/ |

I was in Laughlin in April and went to see the Skywalk at Grand Canyon West. A bit pricey @ $75 a head but a very unique experience. I think they have charter flights from Vegas so it's easy to get to. |

what cirque show are you seeing? I watched Ka while I was in Vegas for training a few years back and it was easily the most incredible show I had ever seen. I'm not much for gambling but man did I blow some cash in Vegas. Wolfgang Puck's restaurant was not as good as I expected so I would save the coin on that experience. there were a bunch of exhibits that I wanted to see but was only able to make 2 of them bodies and titanic, both incredible. I bet they are not there now but there is sure to be something else worth while there now. |

Yeah Arron that's the one. Its at MGM right? Seen a show on TV with them fixing the rotating floor and they gave a little sneak peak at what they do during the show. I was like if we ever go back that's the show I wanna see! |

AmXb, be sure to check out the Zapata shirt. I got that one for a friend of mine and got the Mexican skull tattoo shirt for myself. For cheap (by Vegas standards) beer, get it at the Stage Door on Flamingo Ave. |

-The best Cirque show by far is KA, Le Reve would be the next best imo. I -If you want shopping go to Town Center on LV Blvd just south of Sunset, eat at the Yard House there and by eat I mean drink some of the 100+ beers on tap. -Night golf at Angel Park in Summerlin or Callaway Center on LV Blvd. -Best Mexican food is Lindo Michoacan on Desert Inn just east of Eastern Ave. -I'm a parrothead so Margaritaville in the Flamingo is fun -If you think you may get arrested, try to have the Henderson PD be the ones doing it, I'm expanding their jail and would have the best chance to bust you out of there |

The Bunny Ranch is up north but Sherries is west of Vegas on Blue Diamond Road about 60 miles, a true legal brothel which caters to couples, and has a resort type atmosphere. You just can't come out to legal whorehouse country and not take home a T-shirt and menu from "the whorehouse" While enjoying the talent of the ladies is not compulsory, they do make for some nice scenery. |
