A friend of mine's daughter is the vocalist in the band "Gorgeous got a gun". They are engaged in a "battle of the bands" competition for the trailer for the movie: "Scott pilgrim VS the World" to be released August 13th. If they win, they will be featured on the movie trailer. So this is a shameless plug for a vote for them to win. and I'm sure I left something residing in the US... Bundie!!! That's it! They're now on top! Thanks! These kids are special to me. Veronica Torres, the lead singer is my friends daughter. They play at several venues locally in LA (Mint, Roxy.. and clubs in the Torrance, Redondo area) The band members and the people that created and produced the video are all graduates from Loyola Marymont Uni. They have worked hard to get their education and do music to fulfill their soul. The lead singer, Vanessa Torres, has a degree in Accounting. She REALLY need to fill her soul through the music. They are young, talented and enthusiastic. It is a great thing. By the way, you can vote once per 24 hour period up through July 2nd when the semi-final kicks in. This is meaningful to me and I appreciate you throwing your votes their way! | ||

There's steep competition now. Eleisha has a great voice! Reminds me or Tori Amos in a way. Gorgeous Got a Gun still gets my vote because I think their music and video is better aligned with the movie. Vanessa, my friend's daughter has written the music and lyrics to all their songs. They have enough music to play a gig w/o resorting to cover music. Her dad told me Friday that the first time she performed in public was on a family vacation on Hawaii in 2004. A coffee joint. So yeah ! Vote often and vote early!! | ||
