In what size Aquabox will it fit? Or do you have another recommendation? I'm trying to piece together RAM mount components to mount it on my 1125R. I have the base mount (plain hollow ball mounted to the clutch lever handlebar clamp) but need to put the rest of the system together. Thanks in advance! |

I thought about doing something like that also.... then I decided against it. The on screen GPS controls are way too small to be operated with gloves on and its a capacitive screen anyway. My recommendation is get a dedicated GPS with Bluetooth and link it to a helmet intercom system. My phone is way too valuable to my business to risk it being damaged on the handlebars somehow. |

Touchscreens are almost useless while in the aquabox, but it is nice being able to see the screen so I can read texts and such while riding. Just going by the dimensions of your phone I found online, it looks like it will just fit in a small Aquabox. Motorola Droid a855 Spec: Dimensions. 2.36W x 4.56H x .54D. Aqua Box 3 Internal Dimensions: Width=2.38", Height=4.63", Depth=1.13" inches |

I have a Droid and a Otter Box case for it which you could easily attach it to a ram mount for your motorcycle but I'm not going to risk something happening to my smartphone. I already busted my Blackberry and was without a smartphone for a week earlier this year which made me wonder, how on earth did we ever survive without these phones. I admit, I'm addicted to these devices. I think that's how "Crackberry" got it's name. |

Froggy, Thanks, that's what I needed to know. I figure I can set the thing up for navigation and music, then put it in the box and go. Really not much more need to fiddle with it while in motion anyway. Right now, I just carry it in my pocket since the voice navigation clearly tells you where to turn and calls out the roads by name. Having it where I can see it makes it easier for those turns where you may need to see a visual representation along with the voice. Having real time access to traffic conditions is a good feature too. As for damage... well... that's why the phone is insured! I've lost phones off of roller coasters and gotten them replaced no questions asked. I don't see why motorcycles should be any different. Oh, and I have the Otterbox case for my Droid but unfortunately, unlike the other Otterbox cases, the Droid case is not waterproof and does not have the necessary clip on the back to work with a RAM mount. |

No the Otterbox case is not waterproof but you can fasten it on a ram mount. I discovered this from another tread here on BadWeb is how I found out about it. http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/RAM/ram.asp?p rod=RAM-OTTER http://www.otterbox.com/droid-by-motorola-cases/dr oid-by-motorola-commuter-series-case/ |

I didn't like the otterboxes because the size of them. I know that's part of what makes them work so well, but I ended up giving mine away because I'd rather just slide the phone in and out of my pocket. Plus I change the screen if need be in an hour and I can get it for $13. I had a RAM mount for my iPhone that fit it without a case and it held great and solid. I just put the phone in my pocket if it starts to rain. (Message edited by Phelan on June 30, 2010) |

Cyclonedon: The RAM Mount assumes the Otterbox has a clip on the back. The Otterbox for the Droid does NOT have this clip. |
