So I ordered a zumo 550 from a reputable online vendor, I was charged for a zumo 550, the packing slip says zumo 550, but inside the the package was a zumo 660. The zumo 660 is a little more expensive and has more features(it likes xm radio which i dont use), so what do I do? My conscience tells me I should call the vendor, but my dad says I should just keep it. What would you do? |

Make the call. Tell them what happened, but tell them you are happy to keep the 660 unless they want to sent a pick up box. My guess is that they will let you keep it, and you'll have a clear conscience. |

Ask yourself, would you call the vendor if the situation was reversed? Now, go do the right thing. |

That was pretty much my first though as well, and I probably wouldn't have second guessed it had my dad(step-dad) not been in the other room and said "I would just keep it," I guess you can guess who I got my sense of ethics from Will call them first thing in the morning, as they are closed. |

Yeah, call the vendor. Make them pay to do the swap. Believe me, when you lose your car keys or something similar, you'll be glad you made this right. |

Eddie Are you Erik's brother? Or are you an impostor. Folks on BadWeB trust each other and your profile does not lend itself to trust. The advice you gave above is neither funny nor engendering any kind of trust. |

The 660 is $100 CHEAPER than the 550! https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=135 Make them do the exchange. |

Doerman, The whole Eddie Buell thing started on a bad Ebay auction where a noob said he had a bike signed by Eddie Buell. |

And besides, idiots tend to breed idiots. I just don't see Erik as having a baby brother 17 years younger with such a low intelligence level. But heck, I suppose anybody can pretend to be anybody else if that's what gets their palms sticky in their mommy's basements. |

I agree. The Eddie Buell has got to go. The joke was funny but there are hundreds of folks who lurk here and if they missed the joke it'd be a bad situation. Slaughter is right. They owe you either a 550 or $100. Having used a 550 I'd insist on the 550. |

No problem and you didn't piss anybody off. Just a simple matter of avoiding potential confusion. |

The 450 and 550 are "REAL MAN" GPS - don't need to read no instructions! |

The 660 is an inferior unit compared to the 550, I would demand a switch. Hell see if you can get a Garmin 7500. |

Real men navigate by the wind, scent and sun. Don't need no steenkin' GPS. And, yeah , of course. Would never admit to be lost. |

Like others have said, the 550 is a much better unit. The 660, doesnt allow you to have XM radio either. |

you know, that's funny, this particular vendor has the 660 priced $90 more than the 550. I knew the 550 was a nice unit, but as XM radio is not something I use, I thought I might keep the 660 and either pay the difference or see if they'd give me a discount. Guess now I have to return it. |

What is it about the 660 that makes it inferior to the 550? |

FYI - Garmin service is AWESOME My Zumo 450 JUST died. Called/talked and did some troubeshooting. Warranty is up but they said they'd get me a replacement for $140. It's on its way back - my "new" one will be here in less than 2 weeks. Nice |

Slaughter: Same thing happened to my 450. It came to me with updated maps (but not a new cradle), which I was hoping for as well (found one on flea bay for $19 bucks though). Wayne |

The 550 is a more feature rich model. I don't know the differences off hand, but the 660 is less money. |

Garmin's customer service is excellent. I destroyed a part once, called them on the phone and the guy asked what happened to it. I told him "I am an idiot and closed it in the door and crushed it". It was about a $70 piece that you can't buy alone. His response . . "some of our best customers are idiots. You'll have it tomorrow, no charge." They have me for life. The 550, from my experience, is a fabulous unit. I use a Nuvi in the wife's car and a Garmin 550 in the truck and on the Ulysses. The XM radio is additive. I'd never heard sat radio before and am addicted now. |

I wonder if I tell them that mine doesn't work anymore because I left it on a street corner in SoCal and someone made off with it if they'll give me a new one, lol. They did send me a new base when mine wouldn't charge the unit anymore, a good year out of warranty and for no charge. I've also used Tom Tom's and some other european brand (Migo?) and like Garmin the best. |

Well, now that Doerman's honest neighborhood kids have returned my misplaced Zumo 550, can someone explain to me why a 550 is better than a 660? My friend has a 660 that I haven't used much but I got the impressed it was better than my 550. What features does my 550 have the 660 doesn't? |
