anybody here use a H3 LED bulb. im thinking about useing the housein from a firebolt but i cant use the stock bulb it pulls to much juice for the 40yo honda.

I've seen them advertised, but the ads I see state clearly that they are NOT for primary lighting (i.e. headlights). Use 'em in a foglight or a driving light...but don't put 'em in a headlight on a street bike that goes out after dark. They just don't have enough lumens to be useful.

well do you think it would be better than the 35/45w bulb the honda runs stock lol

It may fulfill the legal requirements of having a headlight, but I don't think the bulb design they are using will ever do what the halogen will do. It looks a lot like they are using nine 1 watt chips, if they were using nine 5 watt chips then there might be little difference in performance.

If you can get them for a few bucks, it won't hurt to try.

You can get a 25 watt H3 lamp so that should work too:
