I've got a homemade one that works. The independent VTwin repair shop that rents off me has used it a few times, so it must work well. Cover shipping back and forth and you can borrow it. |

I dunno if this helps, but I use a ratchet strap. I'm a cheapskate.

thanks barker. i found something like that in the k.v. and tried it. i just wasn't rear comfortable with it when it bent the hole & seemed like it was under some serious tension. so i aborted that mission about half way in |

I did mine this way... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/548470.html?1269108500 to avoid bending the hole. Took about 5 minutes to make the tool. |

sifo, thanks for the pic! i made one from 5/16 (even more overkill) and it worked perfectly! now my only problem is i loosened the damper lock-nut instead of removing the cap....oops. so now i get to go through the reset procedure |

I did the reset procedure way more times that needed the first rebuild. I would get it reset then find that it wasn't all assembled yet and have to take it apart again. The manual walks you through the reset way too early in the assembly process. I'll be smarter the next time! |
