Can an Ohio resident or a recipient of an Ohio speeding ticket request a jury trial to fight the ticket? It seems that "beyond a reasonable doubt" would come into play here. |

In NY its mandatory for you to pass visual speed recognition and be within 5MPH of actual speed before you are granted the RADAR/LIDAR certification. It's a difficult course and the test covers over 500 estimations which are verified by the instructor. Jury trial for a speeding ticket would be hilarious but I would venture to say that it would be reduced before it came to that. |

yeah i heard that. we ohioans are pretty pissed. thats crap. now we can be pulled over for looking like we're texting OR looking like we're going too fast. b.s. however, on a different note, i got pulled over clocked at 65 and the trooper said it looked like i was doing about 80 when he first saw me..... i was doing 80 when he first saw me! |
