Hey yall... my buddy and his 2 neighbors bikes got stolen couple nights ago. The security camera at the complex ain't great but it picked up the scumbag thieves car. Would really appreciate if any ya'll could help identify what kind it is...someone said Diamante, or other older Mitsu of some sort. Trying to track down these scumbags, stole 3 bikes from some good people in Falls Church, Virginia.....

It does look like an old Diamante, it has the same crease in the hood and same shape. |

Thanks Frog and Reep, I'll keep posting up what I get from over here. No one mentioned the Catera...it certainly isn't well known so could be!! |

Hopefully the shape of the sunroof may help a little if you have something to compare it to! Is that a logo of some sort below and forward of passenger mirror? |

shape of the sunroof? Looks pretty rectangular to me.....like most. Its not the catera and here is why: the rear door/window Look at the security footage, the rear door window is one piece, the catera pictured above is two piece (one winds down, one stays in place) |

Not the Diamante either. The footage indicates a door frame around the window. |

The door handles also appear to protrude from the door, the cars pictured above have flush handles. |

LS has that split rear side window, bastard's car doesn't. It looks like a hatchback to me. (Message edited by hootowl on June 11, 2010) |

its NOT a hatch and yes, like I pointed out - the lincoln you posted, like the caddy, has a two-part rear door window. |

it's definitely a lincoln ls (imo). the bastard's car does have a split rear window, you yust cannot see it cuz the pic is blurry. if there weren't a split in the window there, you wouldn't be able to lower it cuz of the wheelwell... everything else matches up - the shape of the b-pillar, the side mirror, the door handles, the little "shelf" in the side of the body above the door handles & below the side windows, the line between the b-pillar & side, (circled in red in B00stzx3's pic), and the way the door frame cuts into the b-pillar & roof, following the line of the windows, the way the black trim outlines the windows... here's another lincoln ls pic:

Am I the only one that thinks he sees a two part rear window? the dark vertical line that appears just forward of the door handle on the car in the security picture doesnt seem to flow with anything in the interior |

I think the symmetrical "sideways D" shape of the windows on that lincoln matches up real well with the bad guys car. The way the doors cut into the body, extruding handles, the mirror appears to be of body color as it cuts into the front window, all seem to match up. |

Hybridmomentpass: Of course all/most sunroofs are rectangular, I was refering to the size and distance from top of door jams and loc relative to front and back of car. |

Are you sure that is the thieve's car? Did they hotwire or cut/bypass the ignitions of the three bikes and ride them away, or push them silent into the street? Are you absolutely certain the bikes aren't sitting inside an apartment within the complex being dismantled and taken out one chunk at a time? (Keep your eye on the dumpster, trust me as it's been known to happen). Still sucks. I hate thieves. Walk around the complex and look to see if you can see a personal camera peeking out of someone's window, and if so knock and ask if they have any footage around the time in question. |

Sunroof is the approximate shape and position, door handles, etc seem to point to the LS. Question being, how did the steal them? Shatter the locks and ride away or toss them in a truck? Personally I would show up with a flat bed roll back with repo sticks on the side, no one would look twice at it then. The repo guys I knew used to do most of their work at night because most often that's when the vehicle was at a known place. |

It just looks too small to be the Lincoln. Looks like a 4-door Sentra or Mitsu Mirage maybe?? |

hey all.. they stole them by busting the ignitions, rode off. They got dropped off by this car specifaclly to steal the bikes. They've figured out it is almost positivley a Lincoln LS and now every silver Lincoln LS in the D.C.-Maryland-Northern Virginia area has a whole buncha bikers scoping em out. One more step closer.... big ups guys. I'd buy yall personal 1190RRs if I had the money! |

I'm going to vote on the Lincoln LS. The body lines match, the quarter window matches, door handles match. |

I know theft happens everywhere but, Falls Church doesn't seem like a place where someone would go jacking bikes like that! I was in the Tyson's Corner area about 9-10 years ago building out the USA Today systems in their building. It's truly a beautiful and peaceful seeming place. Except when the sniper douche came around.... Hope your guys find them before the cops do! I'm always up for some street justice. Just don't kill anyone and put yourself into that mess... |

I used to live outside Tysons (grew up there years ago in Mclean). From what I understand, in recent years it's gone from a peaceful DC 'burb to Latino gangland (and that's per a DC LEO). One recent case he worked involved a string of gang-related...um...machete attacks. Even when I lived there, going to HS in Arlington, it was starting to have some less-than-nice-areas. Million dollar homes a couple blocks from a Northern Virginia barrio. Interesting area. Hope the LEO's find the perps before anyone else does. What were the bikes? I'll keep a ear out up here in Maryland... |
