Agreed. I jailbroke my phone months ago to gain features that I couldn't do with OS3.x . OS4 does all of the things I wanted, and runs smoother without the once-per hour drop/regain of signal that used to happen all the time when my phone was jailbroken, so I'm more than happy. |

Well, not much has been said about the screen. 321 dpi!!! That tops the industry, hands-down. Side note, the front cam/video chat is going to be a lot more common as soon as Skype writes an app to take advantage of that feature. Phelan, you talk as if you already have iOS4......? |

Yep, about time something beat the screen on my Nokia N800 from 2006 (225 dpi from 800x480 at 4.1") After about 300 dpi it becomes indistinguishable to the human eye, but who cares, bring on 400! |

I'm a tester...jk. I got pre-emotive in my words on that because I thought it was already available to download, then I looked closer and saw that it wasn't . However I think my last comment will ring true, since that was my biggest complaint with the jailbreak was the random momentary drop of signal. It kept resetting my Slacker radio >. |

I'm switching to Verizon as soon as my AT&T contract is up. Service outdoors is alright, but I can't use it indoors worth a flip. And this is across multiple phones. The signal just can't penetrate structures well in this area. All my Verizon peeps don't have that issue. Very easy to tell who has what provider at work; the AT&T people are the ones wandering the halls yelling "Hello? HELLO! Helloooo...?" ~SM |

It's just the opposite at my work office. A couple of years ago they installed some kind of cell boosters in the building. Guess what, they are GSM so they only help out the AT&T and T-Mobile people. |

Do you know what I like best about the new iPhone 4? I just bought my coworker's 16gb iPhone 3G and 32gb iPhone 3GS for $50. |

I just bought my coworker's 16gb iPhone 3G and 32gb iPhone 3GS for $50. Your coworker is an idiot. Those are worth about $400 total on eBay. I plan on selling my 3G, and it will mostly pay for a new 4. |

Well I have Sprint Evo 4G, and I like it. It can do the that video chat thing,as it has a front facing camera. Not like I am going to be doing that anytime soon, but you never know. The phone is fast, the 1ghz snapdragon in it, is quick, and so far so good on Android + HTC's sense UI. I would have had an iphone but having to deal with AT&T was a problem. I was told that they couldn't sell me a service that I needed cause I wasn't big enough. Mind you I get the same service from Sprint for Free.. And their pricing was crazy expensive. I looked at 2 iphones for work, and with the cheapest plan I could get (along with the feature they finally figured out how to sell me). It came to over $220 / month. Basically the same thing on spring was $129/month. Over the 2 year contract I could have almost payed for a new mac.. As for my sprint phone. if it Can't get a sprint signal it will roam on VZ, But so far things I like about the EVO. Awesome screen, pretty good readability even in full sun.. uses microsd so if the 8G isn't enough for me I can put a 32G in, and or swap around if need be. 8mp camera. Not on AT&T's network. Can multi-task day one (not that I tend to alot, but nice to be able to put an ssh session in the background if need be). |

+1 on what Mark said. I bought my first iphone (2G 8GB) for $400 new. Then bought an 8GB 3G 1.5 yrs later for $217, and sold the 2G with a broken screen for $135. Then I bought the 32GB 3GS a year later for $324, and sold the good shape 3G for $265. I have a cracked screen on my 3GS; I haven't decided if I'm gonna put a new screen in it from eBay ($20) and maybe look for a new back panel, since mine's stress cracked, or sell the phone as-is when I get the 4. I'll probably just get the 16GB too, since I'm only using 7 on my 32GB 3GS. The only reason I got the 32GB model to begin with is because they sold out of 16s. |

phelan, your really should invest in an otterbox for your next iphone. http://www.otterbox.com/iphone-cases/iphone-3g-3gs -cases/ I have the defender case on mine and that thing has been threw hell, and a war zone and yet when I pull the case off my phone still looks like i just took it out of the box. |

I don't care what anyone says, this iPhone 4 is hands down the coolest phone out there. Nothing in my eyes beats it... NOTHING! My current 3G iPhone has been the best phone I've ever owned. I do a good bit of business on my phone with www.xblights.com and it works perfectly for everything from inventory orders to emails on the go. Can't wait to pick one up one day to replace my "old" 3G. |

That Otterbox Defender is AWSESOME ! I'm using an Encase now . . .which works okay for me but I bought a RAM mount kit last week to put the phone on the bike and this Defender will be the perfect solution. Cool stuff . . .can't wait for the 4G. |

i had that same slider bar but then I updated my phone one and it is no longer jail broken so I don't have it anymore. But it is ok because soon iOS4 will be out and aside from the slider bar everything else i had it jail broken for it will do again. |

Got any pics of that setup? Part of my reason for wanting an iphone was to have Google Maps and a video camera on the bike, but I haven't researched mounting at all. |

I can't wait to be able to listen to my Motown stuff on Slacker Radio and browse Facebook and text at the same time. I, too, used to do all that stuff with my jailbreak, but I accidentally updated and lost it all. My favorite stuff was the Droid style lock screen (connect the dots style), folders, and the drop down Springboard. The springboard was hands down the most convenient, being able to turn stuff like wifi, Bluetooth, rotation, etc off and on while still in any app. |

The 3.1.3? How? Last I checked there wasn't anyway to do it unless you had your .shsh files backed up through Cydia. |

My 2 year old HTC Touch Pro has been blowing the iPhone out of the water since day one. I agree. I have the Ozone. I have it linked to my Microsoft Office. I recieve emails on my phone before it hits office. The guys with iPhones won't receive those emails for several minutes later. Sure it doesn't have all those fancy apps but, who cares. The level app is the biggest joke... |

Receiving email alerts depends on how often you set up the account to refresh. I have Mbox mail (from before iPhone default email app worked with hotmail) and the iPhone email as well for my hotmail and gmail accounts. They're both set to refresh automatically every hour. The mbox and iPhone email have different schedules for when they refresh, so sometimes I get alerted first from mbox and others first from iPhone mail. If I open either one it refreshes and restarts the timing automatically. |

Phelan, what he was referring to is called push, not the polling method that you are using. The moment an email is received, it is sent to the phone. There is no lag between the time you receive the email and the time for your phone to synchronize. Similar to how receiving a phone call is instant, and not finding out half an hour later. |
