I ride a lot of slab to off road trails and then all around the trails and then back home via the slab.

I am running my trusty "mule" my 06 kawi KLR650

What bikes are you guys using for this and do you have any pics?

I put 117 miles on the MULE yesterday, I was riding on some horse trails in the mud.

Did it on a KLR-250 for a year... now I have a KDX-200 that is dedicated for dirt only.

If the trails were closer to me, I might go back, but for me there were just too much expense and too many compromises for the dual sport.

In Ohio though I can plate the KDX pretty easily. I'm tempted some days...

have been riding an xr650l since 1994. still think it's a great bike, lusting after the newer models that are so much lighter(ktm, husky, aprilia etc). of all types of riding dual sport is still my all time favorite.

I take my Uly pretty much anywhere I can take a KLR as long as it's dry.

Not really a Dual-sport but I went up a few teeth F/R on a CRF450X and rode 1100 miles on the U.P. of Michigan. The bike did great with only minor problems. Photos here:

The sand was super fun.

Honda XR650L.

I think this was probably my all time favorite bike. With the big plastic desert tank on it, she could ride forever across the boonies.

I ride the CityX off pavement every week, I need something lighter and more nimble for the single track

That is where I started, and that is what led me to a Uly.

My first bike was a '73 Honda XL250. What a pig. I learned a lot about falling down on that bike. It sure was tough though! A Yamaha TT500 with lights, for a couple of years in '78 - '79. A couple more XL 250's, and I have an '86 XL 250R staring at me now, wanting it's upper engine put back together.

Here's my dualsport. 2002 Yamaha WR426 made street legal here in Colorado. Good on the trails and road.

Until recently, hadn't ridden one in a long time (err....decades...
...used to call them "enduros"). One location where I teach in the tundra uses a half dozen or so for training bikes, and man, I'm grinnin' like a darn fool when I finish doing demos on them.

Me likey! I wish the motorcycle fairy would drop a couple in my drive way : ).

If I can sell my S1, I want a DR-Z400SM.
