(The original thread is stuck in the archives) I received a reply to my e-mail about the driveability issues cropping up with my ECM and returned my ECM to Erik Buell Racing last week. They received it Monday. Yesterday afternoon I sent an e-mail requesting that I have the ECM back before the end of next week as I am heading off on a 5000 mile road trip on the 19th and my stock ECM has a damaged connector that causes the speedo to drop out regularly. Although he didn't say so it looks to me like Michael dropped whatever he was doing, set my ECM up, ran a diagnostic and sent a detailed e-mail back to me within 2 hours. He explained what he had found (somewhat low AFV) what he thought was causing it (something about the cell that reads the decel values?) and he laid out his plan to resolve the problem. To top that off he asked me about how the stock ECM was damaged and offered to send a spacer block back with my ECM if I didn't have one. Service like this beggars the descriptive powers of the English language. That's "Why Buell?" |
