Well . . we DID NOT stop on the way . . . but others did. Think you are having a bad day . . . . we see this guy waving traffic around a entire string of cars. I thought it'd been a massive series of rear end collisions. But nooooooooooo . . . sure enough it was a funeral procession and the darn hearse had a flat tire. I had visions of them opening the coffin and getting the guys VISA to pay AAA. This cabbie was no luckier . . . Just as we passed he'd dropped his sign that read "HELP A BADWEBBER GET TO THE DINOSAIR" |

Another whirlwind day, that started off with an alarm malfunction and ended up in flowers! Court tapped Chili on the foot at 10am and we sprung out of bed like ninjas! We made it to the Dinosaur on time for lunch with all the guys and gals though...
...and plowed our way through a barbecue like we hadn't eaten in days (although we haven't stopped eating since we got here!) It was great to put more faces to the names and have a laid-back chat about this and that. Don't think the smiles left our faces once the initial shock had worn off. Everyone was great and kept us well entertained. Just for those who weren't sure the line-up went like this...(and forgive me if I get any wrong) Table one seated Vamps, Don(Someday), Jaime(Jaimec), Mike(Brumbear), Mark(xl1200r),Sean(Sdecp) and Chili. Table two seated Court, Frank(Froggy), Steve(Johnnylunchbox), Sue, Mike(rkcoo), (Crusty), Terri, Dan(Ulynut) Everybody else has posted heaps of pics from lunch, and we were more keen on chatting than taking pictures amongst the blinding array of flashes going off everywhere I thought this was a cool shot of one departure though (see no evil, hear no evil and...hhmm should we believe it?)
After a good 'ol feed we went on another tour route through Central Park where we saw a few oddities worth a pic or two...
and realised why so many citysiders escape to the park of a weekend or any spare time...
We wandered through the park until my shoes threatened to misbehave for my feet (chicks always make bad shoe decisions), then cabbed back to the car for the extended tour. We shot inside St Patricks Cathedral for a glimpse and out to Columbia..
then drizzled with the traffic through the streets...
...they sell everything right out in the open here! Lol!
Worn out, we headed home to some more good company. I set to filling a few colorful flower vases for Courts tables, just so I don't forget how, and we are just chillin now. Tomorrow is another day. (Message edited by vampress on June 06, 2010) |

And . . .for the benefit of Nikki and some of the Aussies tuned in . . . here's where I took them yesterday after we went to Central Park. I'd run out of room on my camera and these are some a I took a while back but it'll let them see where we were . . . a couple of the buildings were closed but they got the whirlwind tour. Nikki . . is there is anything you want pictures of in NYC let us know . . . tomorrow will be there last day here and it's my job to wear them out before turning them over to Mark and the folks in Ohio!

These are a few shots from Columbia campus yesterday...
We flew solo this afternoon after a lazy Sunday morning around the house, which was nice to slow down a little. The Staten Island Ferry took two little Australian tourists (and about a thousand other people) over to shore past the big green lady in the harbour. She looks so majestic with the sun streaming down over her...
Chili snapped this cool shot of the tugboat crossing with us, so red against what seemed like a stark hazy day.
There are bomb squad dogs at all the ferry terminals, and I couldn't resist a little 'puppy love'...
A shot as we drew closer to docking..
The day looks dreary and overcast, but it was actually quite nice and sunny once the gales subsided, so we headed out onto the Pier near what used to be the Fulton Fish Markets. Everywhere you go here there is someone playing music, miming or doing backflips and today on Wall Street was no exception...
It was nice to just meander through shops and look at all the people scurrying by. That's just what some Sundays are for I think. |

BUMP! The C-Bus plan so far.... Friday night, Bonfire Saturday Day, Neverenuf is gonna take ya to the Pony and AMA Saturday Night, Racing at Columbus Motor Speedway. Then we may swing by a local Bar on the way home. My Brother in-law is playing Sunday. Sleep in and then go do some Shopping at some point in time, we will need to get the bikes ready for the ride to East Troy. If ya still wanna get a tattoo while you are here, I will need to make a appointment for that |

What a whirlwind tour of the big Apple! I would bet that you saw in your time there then a resident would see in a life time. And through a lens. Good stuff. |
