I really hope that model is wrong... btw... What is so funny is that I was 6 years old when I decided to become a geophysicist... I told that to my advisor at Duke in 1985. He said I needed 2 years of calculus... I had it in High School... first semester got a B, second semester C and third semester failed it miserably and he gave me a "mercy D"... Did not deal with it again until I took a Physical Oceanography class Junior year... it took all that friggin time to actually take a class that USED calculus to get it... Flow dynamics are only predictable up to the limits of the study. With an extrapolation like that, if you do not have any meta-data, ie statistics, it is really hard to judge what the accuracy of the study is... I wish I were one of those people to whom higher level math comes easily, but I am not... It would have changed the direction of my life drastically... But I love chemistry and water chemistry in particular... and this is some interesting stuff... sucks tho all we can do is wait and take measurements while BP drags their a$$es on stopping the leak. |

The US GOV has sent a bill to BP for $69 Million apparently... which equals ONE DAY OF PROFIT for the oil giant Do you just make this stuff up or do you actually have a source for bad information? Their earnings are easy to look up and their profit was 16.7 billion last year. That come to about 4.5 million daily, nowhere near the 69 million you quote. While that sounds like a huge amount of money you need to realize that their profit margin was still below 7%. Rather than boycott BP which is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things, why don't you boycott the entire oil business. Take a real stand. Oh, wait... You like to be able to drive to and from work and have lights and heat and air conditioning, and FOOD! Liars SUCK! |

I guess CBS is the liar then... Have you even read any of my previous posts? I have been reserving judgement on BP until there is some actual data on what happened... Dude, go smoke a fatty and chill out. |

BTW 16,700,000,000/365 = 45,753,424.6575. Standard work week is 260 days per year... And 16,700,000,000/260 is 64,230,769.2308 So CBS was off by 5 million per day? WOW, might want to check your math before you start name calling. |

If your data came from CBS then I guess they are liars. I'm not surprised one bit. You didn't attribute your "facts" to anyone, so... It seems to me that you are on the attack on BP at this point and the actual data/facts are not in yet, so it seems safe to say that you are not reserving judgment on this. Your sarcastic remark makes it clear that you are predisposed to the belief that the oil companies are deserving of being demonized. Liars still suck! |

OK I slipped a digit. Since when does BP take weekends off? Still dishonest using a 260 day work year. Nobody does then with a company if they are being honest. Certainly not a company that clearly never takes days off. Liars suck! CBS sucks! |

And how many Buells could each owner of BP buy per day? Just how many owners of BP are there? There's a good chance you are an owner yourself. Got a 401K? IRA? |

And I could by about 714 Buells with the $5mm CBS over stated, and still be able to show them to be liars in their calculations. Just to keep it Buell related... |

BP and Harley will not get any more of my money... at least in Kenya, Shell invested in building roads, schools and provided some jobs for the locals in the 1980's... There is no cure for ignorance I suppose... unless you count education... |

BP's stock down $75 billion since Gulf spill I think it's safe to say that BP, or any other oil company for that matter isn't going to knowingly do this to themselves in the name of profit. There is no profit in loosing capital. Just to keep it Buell related, I don't think Buell made enough bikes to spend that kind of money. |

How exactly do you propose to not have BP get any of your money? Do you really think that if you don't buy gas at your local BP that they won't get any money from your purchase? Boycotting local BP stations makes no more sense than when people were boycotting their local Citgo stations. The world just isn't that simple. Some minds may be that simple, but the world isn't. |
