Rained here today, any ideas who I can blame for getting my boots muddy? BTW it's his brother Eddie who's back is hardly able to. Hope this clarifies things for all. To quote Tom Petty, "Time to move on, Time to get going..." |

Get real. While the UAW is contemptuous, UAW members are not. True to his Saul Alinsky training, Obama engaged in class warfare during the government takeover of GM. Bondholders (you and I) were vilified as rich and greedy but the bloated UAW union was kowtowed to. This was a truly sickening opening act by the Socialist administration of BHO. "It is now clear that there is no real difference between the government and the entity that identifies itself as GM. For all intents and purposes, the government, which is set to assume a 50 percent equity stake in the company, is GM, and it has been calling the shots in negotiations with creditors. While the Obama administration has been playing hardball with bondholders, it has been more than happy to play nice with the United Auto Workers. How else to explain why a retiree health-care fund controlled by the UAW is slated to get a 39 percent equity stake in GM for its remaining $10 billion in claims while bondholders are being pressured to take a 10 percent stake for their $27 billion?" It's so refreshing . . . for all "intense and purposes" . . . to see that spelled correctly for once.

Because the Obama administration played favorites with the UAW, NON-UAW employees lost their jobs because the employers of those folks had their wealth "redistributed". Given the choice between a UAW person losing a job because their employer made bad decisions (and bad negotiations) and someone completely unrelated losing their job because the UAW leadership colluded with the current administration to forcibly remove assets from private citizens, I'll take the UAW folks going out in the street. Besides, there is NO provision for those who were bond holders to receive their value back. In a normal bankruptcy, the bond holders are the FIRST to receive their money not the last (or in this case at all). This was Chicago/Union croneyism at it's worst. I'll be more than happy to support the Ford UAW, but I won't spend one damned penny with Chrysler or GM again. |

If GM didn't Exist anymore how many More Americans would be Unemployed? The Same Question for Harley Davidson If they went Bankrupt and shut down completely how many More Americans would be Unemployed? Have your Jobs and Livelihoods taken away and see how you like it. Even though it started long Before “W” Bush got into office, He still is the WORST President in the History of the United States of America and the Biggest Contributor to Running this Country into the Ground! F*** Obama the MUT LIED! |

The "GM wouldn't exist" stuff is BS. GM wasn't facing a complete liquidation but rather a debt restructuring. GM WASN'T about to cease to exist. It WAS about to have to go through a bankruptcy that would have put GM in a better position than it is now. I have had much of my livelihood taken away BECAUSE of crap like GM. It doesn't affect JUST UAW workers when the Federal Government, with a wave of its magic wand, redistributes wealth. |

Patches: I have had my job and livelihood taken away from me. I sulked and then clawed my way back to work but it wasn't easy nor painless. There will be exciting new industries and jobs we haven't dreamed of yet but we will never get there when government and unions collude to create a swamp. The creation of the Workers Paradise has already been tried and it ended in utter failure. 60 million people died as a result. Bush was just another Liberal President. Obama has vastly outdistanced Bush in his Socialist Redistribution of Wealth ideology. You need to do some homework. |

The real crime in the whole GM debacle was that US bankruptcy law was totally sidelined. The restructuring should have been shaped through the laws on that subject and negotiated with an active Creditor's committee. The creditor's committee was non-existent and US government man-handled the situation. It really is one of the largest white collar crimes perpetrated in a long time. |

Before the 2000 Elections I had a Highly Technical Job making very good money. At the same time there were at least five other Companies I could go to work for making the same money. Presently I have Applied for a Job at several Nationally Known Restaurants and get told the same thing, Though Highly Qualified I don’t meet there criteria. Nine out of Ten of there Employees at These Restaurants don’t Speak English. The Redistribution of Wealth Started Before Obama became President. The MUT LIED! |

The first derivative is commonly called velocity. The second derivative is similarly called acceleration. The third derivative is sometimes known as jerk. The ROW (Redistribution of Wealth) arguably has had a low first derivative value and a zero second derivative before the Age of Dear Leader. What we have here is a non-zero jerk occupying the White House whose only goal is to steal from the middle class. Get your boot off my throat and you can keep your Change, Barry. We certainly Hope so. |

No no you got it wrong, Erik is returning HIS Harley. Apparently the brakes don't work properly & it handles like a greased pig on a polished floor. Well that's what the guy down at my local bar told me, & he should know, as his brother's wife's cousin's ex boyfriend once drove somebody in his taxi who said he'd met Erik. |

In a normal bankruptcy, the bond holders are the FIRST to receive their money not the last (or in this case at all). Really? A corporate bond is a secured interest? I don't think so. General obligation bonds rise & fall with the fortunes of the corporations who issue them. Bondholders beware. |

Bondholders (you and I) were vilified as rich and greedy but the bloated UAW union was kowtowed to. This was a truly sickening opening act by the Socialist administration of BHO. How well put, the individuals that had money "invested" in General Motors, lost EVERYTHING, GM lost NOTHING. The Gubimint lost nothing, they(BO) simply redistributed the wealth of American Individuals took their money and gave it to a bankrupt company..... A double insult to the "Rich" GM investors. I guy I work with inherited his dad when mom died, dad signed all that he owned to his kids, the guy I work with just happened to get the stocks, lots of GM Stock a couple of hundred thousand of GM stock, his brother got the cash, and his sister got the house. The house is worth about 1/3 of what it was 10 years ago, the cash about the same, the stocks are worthless. Watch out when BO starts coming up with ideas about the mortgage crisis, he won't have to deal with the money crisis. Hey, isn't this a motorcycle forum? The H-D(spit) organization really leaves a bad smell in the air. To make the decisions they did..... |

Really? A corporate bond is a secured interest? I don't think so. General obligation bonds rise & fall with the fortunes of the corporations who issue them. Bondholders beware. Never said they were a secured interest, but they are a debt obligation. The process for determining their cash out value, though, was completely incorrect. GM and Chrysler are screwed the next time they try to raise capital. My point was that the bond holders should have received more than they did, and were it not for the way the bailout was handled would have. |

George Bush, Queen Elizabeth, and Vladimir Putin all die and go to hell. While there, they spy a red phone and ask what the phone is for. The devil tells them it is for calling back to Earth. Putin asks to call Russia and talks for 5 minutes. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is a million dollars, so Putin writes him a check. Next Queen Elizabeth calls England and talks for 30 minutes. When she is finished the devil informs her that the cost is 6 million dollars, so she writes him a check. Finally George Bush gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is $1.00. When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil why Bush got to call the USA so cheaply. The devil smiles and replies, "Since Obama took over, the country has gone to hell, so it's a local call." G |
