I was introduced to Yuengling by some chick a few months ago and is actually my new favorite beer, but I have to drive over an hour into PA to get it. This Sam Adams Cherry stuff is my first Sam Adams anything, but I'm liking it. |

Most everything I've had from SA tastes like soapy dishwater. |

SA makes a whole lot of different beers too. I'd guess FB just doesn't like really "hoppy" beers like Boston Lager, SA's "standard" brew. |

I really like most SA's - but the Cherry Wheat is an exception. Same with their Rasberry Lambic. It's just wrong. I don't think there's a place for fruit flavor in beer - but to each his own... |

Cherry Wheat is good. Sam Adams is hit or miss for me though. To me it's really good or terribly awful. I don't suggest the Cream Wheat. Yuengling is good as well. There is a brewery over in Tampa so it's pretty common around here. It's usually my first choice. When in AZ I had what was called Moose Drool. Anyone ever have that? |

I made a 5 gal batch of Pomegranate Wit beer this winter that is drinkable, but I'm with swamp2, if I want some fruit with my beer, I'll just get some fruit and eat it with my beer. Caldera IPA from Oregon is now my favorite. It comes in a can and looks like pineapple soda pop so you can walk in the park with one...

Some Micro-Breweries really get carried away trying to offer the next "big thing" in plain old BEER. That's what i like.A good ICE COLD BEER.A plain old lager. I suspect old Jeremy dislikes SA because old Sam was a good old YANKEE!! |

Jeremy no like hoppes? I really like SA, on account of the prodigious hoppes. Their Octoberfest seasonal is one of my favorites. Gotta admit, for a hot Summer day--yeah, I'm calling it Summer here in East Texas--the "Miller Chill" with lime really hits the spot. Never thought I'd say that about any light beer, but if you are wanting to stay active, it is very refreshing. |

Not a fan of ANYTHING from Sam Adams. Then you're drinking the wrong stuff, my friend. What all have you had? I really like SA, on account of the prodigious hoppes. Their Octoberfest seasonal is one of my favorites. The best beer they make, by a WIDE margin, is Red Brick - the only catch is it's only available within the city of Boston, only on tap and only in a handful of bars. Since Boston is 3 hours from me, I find myself enjoying the Noble Pilsner as of current - except that one time I ordered a Noble Pils and bartender brought me a DiSorono Sour... not sure WTF happened in his head. |

Guinness is good but Murphy's also produce a fine stout. Slightly less acidic in taste than Guinness and very refreshing. |

Prescott Brewing Company's Raven Maniac Brewed seasonally, sold locally. We will often run to Prescott Brewing for dinner and will pick up a half dozen for "export" to California. Definitely the Anti-Lite beer. |

Y'know. We all ought to figure out how to start a Badweb Beer thread where we could post up a beer/ale and have others try/rate/evaluate it. Thread for each beer or ale. Dunno if it could be managed by the custodians. Be kinda fun. You recommend a favorite or try a new beer or ale, start a thread on it. Anybody else can then post up their thoughts on THAT ale. Those of us who are interested in one of the "Badweb Rated" brews could then go right to that thread and check it out before investing. Would be a little less chaos than a random "I like XXX" thread - and can perform a useful "public service" ...just thinking out loud. |

To many Micro's have attached off the wall names for their beers that attract you to it because of it but in return lots of them are garbage. |

My favorite above all others. I like the microbrewed stuff also, but this is my #1 go-to frosty beverage.

Moose Drool has been mentioned twice, I think. It's a nice brown ale. Boring to me however. I'm all done with any IPA's too. I still like a Golden ale when I can find it but there is so much more out there! We can't get much from SA except a lager way out here but then you easterners cant get the majority of our really good ales over there, can you? There are lots of great ales made here in the west . Stone Mountain makes Arrogant Bastard, which many have heard of but they also make a small batch of Double Bastard every year and it's top shelf ale for sure. Pike Brewing makes my long time favorite, a ruby style scottish ale they call Kilt Lifter. It tastes nice but I think I like it for the sledgehammer effect. Especially when swilled by the unsuspecting noob. Shit will kik yer ass. Another ale I'm currently buying is from the Belgean Brewing Co. Made from a recipe dating back to 1554, it's called well, 1554. Mmmm. The temp an ale is served at is as important as the food it's coupled with. Overly cold ales will mask the flavor. A friend here who has been getting edumakated about ales lately has discovered that when served a cold ale, he will taste it and then let it sit a while, tasting it again after the temp has risen a bit and so on. He says it's like a different brew with each taste and not until it has warmed to just the right point will he actually drink it up. Another bud who stops by now and then slams my ale like corn nuts. I keep telling him to stay out of the good stuff if he's gonna be clocked at 22 beers per hour but it does no good. On the rare occasion that he actually brings any beerz to La Casa, it's usually coors. Go figure. I could talk ales all day but it makes me thirsty! |
