I know some of you appreciate 2 stroke street bikes as much as I do, so I thought I'd share this. Saw it this morning at The Lookout on Ortega Highway. Discuss amongst yourselves. |

Seriously, right? The guy said he bought it after the previous owner had taken it all apart with the idea of restoring it. Then he gave up and left it all in boxes in the garage for a few years. The current owner paid $1000 for all the parts and put it all together. It had 1600 miles on it when he bought it, and now it's got double that. It's like brand new, amazing. |

sweet bike, i miss that road, used to live in lake elsinore and worked at el toro, took that road every day, knew every single bump and mark in the lanes!!! my buddie's rx7 is still down in the canyon where he rode it down flipping and cartwheeling about 600 ft!! no injuries at all. if you go to the big turn out a little way down from the lookout and look over the edge there is a white rx7 sitting upside down on a big ass rock!! |

'72 LS100 was my first 'street bike' and I still am wicked fond of it. It's always been amazing to me that the little 100cc two-stroke Yamaha would chug me up to over 65mph. About eight years ago I gave it back to the uncle who first passed it my way--hope he thinks of me when he's done with it this go around. Thanks for sharing a nice bike and some fun memories. |

The blue XB belongs to one of our fellow Badwebbers. It's an 05 with open airbox, race ecm and ti-force exhaust. Oh and the owner is Brian who goes by Mcgiver on badweb. Good eye! I was wondering how long it would take someone to spot it. |

I just gave one of those away that had been given to me. I had it running but the tank was seriously rusted and I just didn't have the time to properly take care of it. It sure was a cute bugger though.

Wow, I'm amazed that I'm not the only guy here that started on a '72 LS-2 Yamaha. Was a great bike to have in high school back in the '70's when a 350 was a big bike. Lots of noise (removed the baffles) and fun, not so much for the speed though........at 10.5HP. Was good for 72MPH WFO. |

Back in the mists of time......(70s) I did a few conversions on those for friends, we'd put the whole top-end off a YR-5 "Roadburner" into the YDS-7 250. There were plenty of totalled 350s in the breakers in those days. Mmmm I can still smell it now. (Message edited by mr_grumpy on May 31, 2010) |

Nothing like a high throttle run across a valley just as the wind completely stops in the evening...( before the flows reverse ) leaving a 1 lane wide & high column of smoke that just hangs there....... Choice RD. |
