A pickup truck t-boned a full size van right behind me in an intersection once. I was waiting out in the middle to turn, rolling slowly with my feet on the pegs, and the van was pulling out behind me also.
The truck was speeding along in the right hand turn lane of the street I was turning on to. I saw the headlights out of the corner of my eye, noticed the truck wasn't turning right but going straight instead, and BOY it sure is going fast, ****BAM**** I felt the shockwave of the impact behind me and just rolled straight ahead and parked at the corner liquor store.
WOW! The video does show the "victims" crossing the double yellow a few times too. Good thing they weren't leaning over the line when the BMW came by, it could have been much worse.
Great video. Shows how NOT to ride on the street. That's why I race. I am one of of the most boring street riders you'll ever meet. That video shows the stupidity of all the riders. Take it to the track boys,
That's one of the things that has always pissed me off about riding with others. If ya can't stay in your own lane then take it to the track!! I ride aggressively enough, but I stay in my own lane. And if I don't ride as stupidly or crazy as others I have ridden with in the past, then I don't ride with them anymore. I have had friends crash into other friends pulling this same kind of crap.
Had a Goldwing coming at me in my lane around a blind corner this morning on the South Grade road down the back side of Palomar. Thankfully, I was all the way at the outside of the lane.
Did the rider who was passing the vehicle (in the middle of a corner!!!) stop to check on the downed rider?
After making sure the downed guy was alright I would be chasing that guy down like a pissed off hornet.
I know the downed rider was crossing over the line (Bad!) but where that incident happened he was in his lane. Unfortunately, so was the oncoming bike.
