How many times do I have to repeat it. What they are doing is against the constitution they only have the right to count every 10 years. The Census Bureau gains info. every month of every year. That violates the Constitution we have a 4th amendment and 5th amendment right not to answer anymore than how many people live in our homes. Period end of discussion. Its not about left or right. Got the regular census form. I answered how many live at my address. Nothing else. Got the American Community Survey as well. Same answer. It is outrageous! Americans who don't find anything wrong with what the fed gov is perpetrating upon us have a very poor understanding of history and the risks associated with such an invasion of privacy and all under threat of penalty. I REALLY hope they send someone to try to collect the remaining information and then try to enforce any kind of penalty against me. As to the contention that they need more info to help properly fund schools, roads, etc. Nonsense. The fed gov has no business redistributing our hard earned income to schools anyway. That is a right not provided to the fed gov by our constitution, thus it is the purview of the states and only the states. Congress has used such monies as leverage to force states to bend to their will. It is wrong! I did fill out one other answer. Under "Race" I checked "other" and filled in "human." I am so sick and tired of all the racial bullshit. Treat us all equally under the law, period. Fine and/or imprison the bigots who don't. Under language spoken at home other than English, I wrote "Tea Party." | ||

Yes certain areas or people get a Survey that the Census Bureau calls an independent form. American Survey or something. Some people got that with the 9 question Census. Some people got a worker to show up at their door. I got all of the above. That is their trick to getting more info. than the 10 years which is in the Constitution. That Survey form they do send out a lot throughout each year. Over 250,000 americans may see it. Just look at the video I provided at the start of this thread its not that long. Sure, the counting is in the constitution, but why do they need to know what race you are? I just hate that African-American thing, any hyphenation. I grew up in the 70s, and damn, this has all gone horribly wrong, even in junior high school I saw the benefit of laise-fair government, now we just keep giving and giving and giving and it just keeps getting worse, so obviously we are doing the wrong thing no matter how good the intentions are that promote social welfare and government benefits. | ||

I called a note left after a failed census visit and asked it if was illegal to not fill out the census. the answer I got was yes but they could not provide me with the penalty for not doing so. End result I told them how many people live in my house and that was all they ere going to get. their last question before the call end was " Can I ask you what race are you?" and I told them no. 2 days later another note left for a census visit was left on my door. I called the number got an answering machine gave them my address and explained again they have all the information they were going to get. Truthfully I was having sincere difficulty filling out the census form mailed to the address I occupy....occasionally. I called the phone number and asked what happens if I don't fill it in. They told me I would get a visit. I asked what if I didn't answer the questions, the person said that there was a $3000 fine. I asked where I should send the check? They didn't know. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with the poor guy before he ran out of answers. Anyways, the form was sent in... Like I said above, they have a duty to count every 10 years, I really doubt they have any business knowing what race you are. Maybe if they asked if you are an illegal alien, but they are probably counting on those peoples to be the next voting block. OK, I have said enough. I will shut my pie hole before I become irrelvant... But that crap from the Buell rider from canada yacking about firearms in the USA on the Biker Shot thread needs to shut his also before his flawed idea of self preservation becomes clear to him. | ||

think you are outraged at this... you should go see the clinic disclosure forms that are required to get Medicaid care or community clinic access. Do you have guns in your household? How many? Do you ever feel threatened ? Is there ammunition in the house? Have you or anyone you have ever known been a victim of domestic abuse ? All for the sniffles. Refusal to fill out the admit form, is grounds for refusal of service and a visit from a case worker to ensure domestic stability ..... And this is the architecture for the Obamanation healthcare. The first time I filled out the questionaire at the doctors office about firearms in the house was the last time I was ever asked even after changing doctors, so apparently they share the information so as to not waste their time and ask a second time, cause the first time they asked me was memorable for them. | ||

Article I, Section 2. of the Constitution requires that an ENUMERATION for purposes of apportionment be done every 10 years. Been doing it since 1790 & they take their job seriously. Doubt that the rest of the gibberish is Constitutional but it is legal. If you tell the Census Bureau: - # of people in your household ON APRIL 1 - If the dwelling you are in is your normal residence or a vacation home - Your name They will go away & not bother your for another 10 years. But they do take their job seriously. They check places you can not find on Goggle Earth. - They do want to count EVERY resident. If you send them away w/o the above information they will make an earnest attempt to find it, using every resource available, neighbors, etc. Give them the above information & they go away. Anyone notice that the only question you are legally required to answer was the first one and was in a box separating it from the rest of the form. Mine was sent to me on March 15. On March 25 I received a letter that told me, if didn't send in my form I could expect a visit from the census taker. Because the form asked how many people lived at my house on April 1, I filled my form out with a single vertical stroke and sent it in on April 1. My brother and his wife have a house here (AZ) but their primary residence is on SD and that's where they vote. They were here on April 1. Wonder how that worked out for the Census Bureau? G | ||

Thanks for some common sense Louis. The best way to make the Census people disappear is to answer the two basic questions of enumeration: Did you live here on April 1st, and how many people lived here with you. That is it. The enumerators are required to try and get additional information so they have to document the refusal to answer the non-sense questions very well. Give them the basic two pieces of info and possibly your name and phone number. They could get your name and contact information easily enough but having it on the form prevents it from getting flagged higher up for additional on site visits! Most enumerators are your neighbors who are not working in conspiracy with evil cabal in DC. The bean counter in the regional office might be in on the conspiracy, though, so keep a low profile. | ||
