Blah Blah Blake. Your veiled insult towards Buellinmke is another indication of your wack job mental state. You realize of course "A dismal record of repeated blatant dishonesty" can be equally applied to Bush 2. Of course I'm sure you will have all kind of puffed up propaganda to push your neocon agenda and argue to the contrary. You need to get a life Blake. You need to move out of your parent's house get off the computer and maybe try and find yourself a nice girlfriend. Live a little before you end up more bitter, jaded and screwed up than you already are. Dying old, alone and celibate for decades is a miserable way to leave this world. |

buellmike, while i can respect and appreciate your experience in the USMC, beers do not make a great president. Base a man's character on the company he keeps. Our president is a socialist/marxist who has a personal history of having very close ties to terrorists and left wing extrememists, has had his birth place not verified to my or many others satifaction and has had a complete disregard for the constitution for which he swore to uphold. Mr. Obama has not gone to a christian church service since he has been in office. Do you think that the fact we are at war with muslim extrememists and we have a president who may have a muslim backround is a coincidence? If you do please send me a pair of the tinted glasses you are wearing. This country is in historic dire straights right now and no matter what the Bush's, Clinton, Reagan, hell even Carter did in the whitehouse all together pale compared to what the current POS has done in the last year alone. This is not right wing propaganda, this is FACT. For all of you liberals who wanted a Change... well we got it and i hope you like the taste of bile! For the life of me how can anybody with ANY common sense or education live in this country and be liberal?... especially if you are in the military! one day the veil will be lifted and the truth shall set you free. I need a beer! |

Beer summit two? Does beer solve the worlds problems? Maybe BO needs to pour beer into the Gulf of Mexico to fix the oil slick. It's not like he actually opened up his wallet and bought anyone a beer, he just did it with other peoples money. I have to agree with Blake and others that beer doesn't make him a great leader. He has shown a great ability to divide the country however. That clearly shows that he isn't a great leader. |

What like the patriot act that is still in place or the war in Iraq which is still being fought? How about dont ask dont tell policy? Are you saying totus supports the neocon agenda? Put down your crayons and type something with substance. |

Absolutely would do it all again, in a heartbeat and I will too... see you in 2012... I will not Bush bash here, but I could also go on about all the things I disagree with Mc Cain on... I could fill the page with what I disagree with Hillary Clinton on as well... Again, insinuating that I am un-educated, shallow, or naive are well, very much the same... I make no apologies for who I am and what I believe in... these things for me are ALWAYS born of personal experience... Not some "theory" or some label or some set of random beliefs I had shoved down my throat... I come from a very conservative, very educated and very well to do family... not like that really makes me any different from anyone else... it does not... But I do know this... I was somewhere around 19 years old at a Southern (conservative) Methodist university when I began to question what I had been told my entire life... WOW, what do you know, it is all part of becoming an ADULT... I remember one conversation when my dad called me and said (one of the few times he actually spoke to me man to man so to speak)during the first Presidential election after I was 18... "You are going to vote for the right person, aren't you?"... and me, being raised a young Republican, I said "Absolutely"... and I did. And I got quite a thrill out of knowing that my vote cancelled his out... him with all his money and all his power and all his snobbery... I was equal as an adult under the law... I will never forget that. |

Congress is now in the process of voting to end Don't Ask, Don't Tell... And that makes our military stronger how? I think it is bad timing. But I guess they think they can try and pass it undetected or without much attention due to all the other extremely important distractions going on. |

Why deny someone who sincerely wants the opportunity to sacrifice so much for our country... seems like a big waste of talent and dedication to me... ... that is all... Now if someone can't control themselves sexually on duty... that is a an entirely different story... rarely do people get kicked out for sexually assaulting someone... rarely do these incidents get reported... that would actually make sense... |

How is it a waste? People are still joining the military and being dedicated to their country and serving no matter what their preference. But there is a huge difference between a mature "adult" and an 18 yr old in the military... lots of potential for incidents, but I guess there will have to be more training and a bunch of new rules and laws made up that everyone will have to learn and obey. |

Do you really think it makes sense in our military to teach honor and integrity, but require people to lie about their identity to be able to serve? Not saying being gay is good or bad... it just IS... just like what family you are born into... Seems a little twisted to me... that's all... |

Our reservists are doing multiple tours because that is EXACTLY how Clinton wanted it to be when he "right sized" the military in the early 90's. The Navy was cut in half from 600 to 300 ships. The new paradigm is that the active forces are only large enough to be the initial force. Anything more than a skirmish and the reserves are called in. Don't confuse calling in the reserves with being overextended. I think it was a horrible idea. Our enemies see us exactly that way...weak and overextended. |

Not every country in Nato accepts gays in the military... what is gonna happen if we send a gay squad leader to Korea and the S Koreans do not want that person near them?... you gonna force them to accept it too? I guess they will have to learn too. Many dedicated and talented will not join or may choose leave because of this repeal as well. Oh...but they don't matter because would be close-minded and not military material anyway right? |

I don't believe anyone has called you un-educated, shallow, or naive. At any time. You are usually a breath a fresh air in relation to some of the other posters who harbor similar political viewpoints as yourself. People are challenging other people in these threads which is healthy. Some use logical arguments, others use emotion to argue their beliefs. Logical arguments will win the day over time. Every time. |

R... I was not refering to you, just some in the past who have done so... sort trying to head it off at the pass... but not really intended for anyone... Hey, did you hear they are going to let women serve on submarines now... I guess everyone who still thinks women have cooties will run away and go AWOL? Sarcasm intended... "Many dedicated and talented will not join or may choose leave because of this repeal as well. Oh...but they don't matter because would be close-minded and not military material anyway right?" same argument was used against the military becoming integrated. |

I wonder how they're going to deal with privacy issues on the subs? Not a whole lot of room. People hot rack the bunks under the torpedoes. It wasn't too difficult on the carriers, though having to bypass certain berthings while making your way around the ship was a bit painful at times, especially when your usual route was secured for one reason or another Sometimes the women had no other choice than to go through a male berthing. I got really tired of hearing "Female on deck!" every ten minutes while I was trying to sleep. |

Why would the women expect that level of privacy on a ship or sub like that is a little beyond me... but then again, I really enjoy communing with nature and taking a dump in the woods... |

I went to Antioch College a million years ago. If you don't know about Antioch, suffice it to say that it was the most uber Liberal college in the known universe. We had coed crappers and showers. Wasn't wild about watching a girl egressing a stall after she had laid a stinky but it sure made up for it when we were showering together! True story. Now if they would only let a 57-year old lech serve aboard a coed sub. Mile-down club is hilarious. Thanks for making my day. |
