"What is that?"

im not sure what you ment by that but it your talking about the bike its a 1970 CB350.

its a work in progress. should be be doneish (able to ride)with in a few weeks.

i just have to put swing arm back on its +4in, make batt/eltronics box, make a new wire harness (i only need key switch, head, brake, tail light, charging system) get broken tap out of pinch bolt , seat, mount front fender to be rear fender and the plate/brake light.....that should be about it, oh and finish the rear sets, and chop the sub frame, install new tires.

here is my current 'cafe racer' project : )

This one is pretty much finished now, and is up for sale. Once this is sold the next 'cafe project' will probably be based on an Aprilia 750 Shiver, which is a very underrrated bike IMHO : )

There were a few sporty based ones on one of the sites posted back on page one that I thought were good enough that I might consider making something like that.

I know where there's one of these with only 1 mile on it. I think all the mileage is from being pushed around, the front disks aren't even scuffed yet. It's criminal I tell ya!

I would love to recreate the XLCR 'look', without having to go back to the leaky, underpowered engine, weak braking, and poor suspension. Other than that, it's great!

Maybe I'm just crazy, but that RYCA is freakin' awesome...maybe because it looks so much like my old XL350 did...in any case, I now officially have my eyes peeled for a donor bike to build something like that.

The XLCR kit is available to buy as a bolt on for the XR1200 here http://www.adrenalinmoto.co.uk/prods/pc27.html

Our cafe racer uses this tank cover but the seat unit is from Italy (as used in the XR1200 Trofeo race series).

Thank you : ) It is anorexic in Sportster terms of course, rather than compared to other bikes. We have taken around 40kg (80lbs approx) off the stock bike by replacing most of the stock alloy parts (triple trees, footrests) and the stock horrifically heavy exhaust. We could save a lot more by swapping wheels etc but I've got to the point where I want to do something else now : ) The motor is stock exhaust for a Power Commander, a 'ram air' air filter system and full race exhaust system and puts out 91bhp at the rear wheel now.

It was the inability to afford an XLCR that lead me to a Yamaha SR500, (First new bike) turned into a Cafe Racer. Drop bars, bikini fairing, black and gold embellishments.

'alf the 'arley it were.

Extra nice Matt!
80lbs! and you could have gone further?
I want to do something else now
Would that be the Shiver?
Looking forward to it.
I know you've got ideas, and I can't wait to see what you come up with.
The ONLY thing I don't care for on the Shiver, is the underseat exhaust.
Never have cared for that, on any bike.

Me neither : ( I was thinking of a short stubby side mounted GP style exhaust on the Shiver rather than the odd looking under seat thing.
It is a great little bike other than some styling issues, and overlooked by customisers in general so far (which is one reason we want to do one). Hopefully if we can sell this one soon we canget an ex press demo Shiver direct from Aprilia for a good price too.

A un-molested one sold for about 900 bucks just down the street from my house....

Should have snagged it while I had the chance....

I always loved the Ducati Sport Classis 1000. Sadly it doesn't look like Ducati is selling it anymore.
