Quick question I am sure has been answered before but I searched for an hour with search and Google Badweb and can't find an answer. Is there a chart anywhere of what stock mufflers fit what bikes? I am specifically looking to see if an 05Xb12R will fit an 08XB12R? I know 9's don't have the valve and 12's do. I know the Ulysses have longer mufflers but I was just curious about compatibility from year to year of the same models. Thanks for any help guys.

I don't know if there's a chart anywhere, but each specific XB model should be able to use the muffler from any other year of the same specific model. Other than the valve being absent on the XB9 models, I think the only other change that would affect fitment is the longer tip on the Ulysses/Lightning Long models.

I don't know of any reason why an '05 XB12R muffler wouldn't fit an '08 XB12R.

Why is there no valve on the 9s?

Tuning differences due to the 9's shorter stroke.

Thanks Spike. That is what I thought. Someone with access to the part #'s (Froggy)will probably be able to give the exact breakdown of what part #'s are applicable to what model and years.

Now that's funny. Typing at the exact same time. Thanks froggy. You've got a beer on my tab if I ever meet you simply because of all the time I see you taking answering other people's mundane questions.
