It makes perfect sense, I am surprised they didn't do it sooner. WI taxes businesses way too much. The most recent one cost Harley millions, I would think it also cost Polaris a lot as well. You see, if you have multiple plants, and one is in WI, WI taxes you for all of them. |

I, for one, think businesses should pay their fair share of taxes. Not over taxed, but fair, Never heard of the tax a company for ALL their facilities that aren't in WI. I find that hard to believe. How long has that been going on? It's called cheap labor, which usually equals cheap (quality) products. |

Info on the tax: http://www.biztimes.com/news/2010/5/14/the-hog-tax Yes, it is hard to believe, but that is the way the left runs. (Message edited by BikerTrash05 on May 21, 2010) |

Maybe they are trying to get as far away from H-D(spit) as possible? You ought to see some of the bikes they have out now....inverted forks.... |

I, for one, think businesses should pay their fare share of taxes. I guess that all depends on who is in charge of deciding what is fair. If a company feels it is too costly (unfair) to do business in one state it will simply move to another, more business friendly state, or out of the country all together. Then what are the workers of Wisconsin (or California) going to do? |

fair is not millions of dollars in tax breaks. Maybe that's part of the reason States are in financial trouble now, more so that "too high of wages and pensions for workers" Pleasant Prairie in Wisconsin gave huge tax incentives to companies to build in their town. 10 years of super low taxes. After that, the companies simple go elsewhere. Lot's of empty warehouses and office space now. That worked out well. When does quality of a product mean more than shipping work to other countries. |

Rocco, you should see the huge Motorola building located just north of Harvard Illinois on Highway 14 that the state of Illinois gave huge tax breaks to Motorola to help keep them in the state. It failed because motorola is now made overseas and the building is vacant with the state picking up the tab on that screw-up. once again we have corporate America and their greed to thank for our manufacturing jobs being shipped overseas these days. |

>>>> more so that "too high of wages and pensions for workers" Perhaps. I don't even argue it anymore but then I am living in a town where you can make $160,000/yr as a librarian and after 20 years you can retire with 90% of your wages. We've turned into an amazing sissy state. Fair is fair . . . I'm cool with that but some of the current arrangements are bizarre. Again . . I've gone into the "cover my own ass" sort of thinking . . I think . . just take a look at CA and the UAW . . . these other things will sort themselves out when pension checks, based on huge unfunded liabilities, begin bouncing. It's not right for corporations. It's not right for labor. Greed has screwed both out of what they once stood for. |

HD will be entirely out of WI in 36 months. yea and HD will follow Polaris/Victory to Mexico. Wiring harnesses are already there, that was 100 good jobs that left York. Can-am ATV's are made in Mexico. The Can-am ATV model that I own was one of the last models built in Canada... |

Rocket, maybe you and some 'good ole boys' from seiu can go to the ceo's home and yell at them with bullhorns. Make sure you get alot of blacks to go with you though. Maybe theres a race card to be played? We already know they are greedy but racist and greedy would cause a stir. Bus all the poor backs in you can. The poorer the better. |

I don't think we can totally blame the evil corporate america for building overseas or over rio grande.Look in the mirror American's we are a lot of the problem we love to buy the cheapest crap we can and quality has to compete with crap. Compared to a country like japan we have no national pride when we have to put our wallet were are mouth is. |

Quote>>>"too high of wages and pensions for workers" Court may not argue it but I will. IMO, if a family can make it on only one income. Then and only then are the wages and benefits to high!!! This is corporate and share holders greed. Not that the polaris workers make to much...100% greed on both sides. More so corporate greed because I'm sure most Polaris employees own stock and they would never do any thing to cause their job to move south. The company set the wages gave the raises and benefits and when their leadership skills fail to make a nice profit the greedy money sucking whores cut the life line of the little guy.
