I just got back from a great ride on my Uly. About 300 miles of backroads. About half way through the ride (in Brattleboro, VT I think) I noticed a jingling chirpy sound when I was accelerating from a stop or decelerating. As I kept on riding, I noticed it get a little louder and was able to verify that it wasn't my keychain or the windshield. I was further able to narrow it down to being up front, most likely inside the flyscreen. It happened at a specific RPM: 1500. As I got closer to home, I resolved to figure it out before I went to sleep. I pulled into my garage (car hole) and left the engine running so I could rev it to 1500 and hear it do its thing. I took off my gloves and placed them upon my X1 seat and heard a familiar jingly sound! Wha? I revved the XB12 to 1500 and no odd sounds. Sure enough, the straps on my held gloves had little metal tubes on the buckles that made the sound! Oh well, at least I can sleep now. |

I hate things like that. Once I left a quarter under the seat and it was jumping around and I could hear it rattle when engine off coasting. Drove me nuts till I got it. |

You just have to be smarter than the gloves or coin. :-P |

I think I'll apply wax or something to the little tube. |
