I was calling a few dealers on inventory on my air filter for my Buell. Knock Knock it was the Census Bureau. I told him to leave nicely. And gave him a copy of the 4th amendment. Yes I was. I was just about to leave until the guy showed up. I am going to pick up my air filter tomorrow. The timing was funny to me. My wife said they showed up yesterday at 3:00 p.m. i was still at work. She told him to leave then. | ||

Not to fan a political discussion but you are actually legally required to be counted. That doesn't mean that you have to answer all those other questions (I assume) but you do have to tell them how many people live in your house. | ||

Nice.  I work in the customer service industry too and if I did not like it I would get another job simple as that. I have learned the skill of having thick skin. I cant whine to my boss about how someone treats me or is displeased because of how they feel about the situation.  | ||

whats the big deal? Its not like you have to go somewhere to be counted, they come to your house and ask how many people live there. you spent more time showing him the 4th amendment crap then it would have taken to answer the questions. | ||

Maybe I missed something, but the questions I answered on the mailed out form, which are what they ask if they have to come to your door and waste more of our tax dollars hiring people to do something they tried by mail, are pretty basic, and for the most part covered in my taxes I have to file every year. Now I don't like paying my taxes and have alot to say about it, but I do it anyway, and I tell them what I have to to get all my deductions, which actaully is less than the census form. I didn't have to give any SSN's on the census form, didn't have to disclose my income, didn't have to tell them who I gave money to. I bitch and complain about a lot of stuff the government does, and I even call my state and federal reps and blast 'em for the b.s., but I fill out the census. I encourage everyone in my area and state to fill it out, and hope the other states have enough people who waste their lives protesting what is really a nothing in the realm of government intervention, as it gives my state more of my tax dollars back. No, I don't want to pay a dime of taxes, but since I am, I sure as hell don't want to be funding a statue for some ass clown in Ohio or New York with my money. Better it comes back here so I can go piss on it every day.  )) | ||

in ancient times people had to go back to the city where they were born for the census. And you won't answer a few questions? When i took the census all I did was fill out a form, it took less then 3 min. Questions that i fill out for job interviews are more personal then the census questions. And the census data decides distribution of federal money to states, and how much money schools get. | ||

Schools! Thats what they want you to believe and say to get their foot in the door. The gvt. can count me and keep tabs if they want every ten years. The Census can do the same.
