necrosis What's that? That is nasty. As bad as that is I would have much rather received that injury than the one I did when t boned. Wish I had pics of my foot spun backwards. People at the scene must have that I was a sick freak for wanting pictures. Guess I got some cool hardware though.... |

I doubt that boots would help so much with a hammer+anvil car/bike situation. |

Thanks Hex. Doesn't sound fun for sure. Armoured boots could have lessened the impact. Not much though. I don't know the details (MPHs of each driver) of his accident. I asked the question about the boots in my accident. I was wearing H/D riding boots. Doctors and members here stated that my leg still would have snapped but possibly not spun the way it did. |

That's why from day 1 of when I began riding I always wear over the ankle boots. |

Firebolt, I've felt the ole foot turned around backwards before. It hurt so damned bad I couldn't even cry. I just shook. Medic told me that was shock, and I told him I was going to stand up and beat the #$!& out of him if he didn't stop trying to fit my broken leg into a traction splint. It's amazing what metal can fix. My left foot suffered a tib/fib fracture, complete dislocation and torn ligaments on the medial side. All from a silly military parachuting accident. Sucks when one foot gets caught in a hole during a PLF. +1 for OTA boots... |
