Hey Guys and Gals,

I need some help locating some parts. Last week I received a call from the mayor of Shreveport (my home town) that Richard had been selected to be inducted in the La. Museum of Champions by the board of regents. My family is truly touched and it will have a lot of memorabilia on display with regards to the Elves effort as well as our drag racing history. This is where the “I need some help” part comes in. After my call with the mayor I got a call from the president of the board who wanted to let me know that they had an area next to Freddie Spencer’s and that there was a platform available for a bike if we had one to loan them. Well, after some work and helpful leads, I located the original “Mighty Whitey” S1W that Richard set all the records on in ’98-’99 in a shed down in Florida. I secured the remains last night but need a few parts to get it back together. The entire front end is gone, including clamps, switches and controls. The engine is gone. All I really need is a complete bottom end. I can take care of the top end. I need a head light with the brackets. I need a set of polished PM wheels. I need brake calipers. Pretty much everything else is there it is just in boxes or beat to hell. I know there is E-Bay out there but I would rather pay someone in this community for the stuff rather than a stranger. John at Force Motor Products has agreed to build me another race pipe identical to the one that was on it in ’99. It was just a bit different than his stock ones. Lot’s of great memories with this bike. My friend Ricky Farmer of R&D Motorsports in Shreveport who was the crew chief for the ’99 season when we won the national championship and the worlds in Australia will be handling the restoration. My emails are brian@revperf.com or briannallin@gmail.com . My cell phone is 920-889-7456 or feel free to call the shop at 920-892-2109.

Thanks

Brian

We're off! Scored the new set of PM's. Already got an e-mail from Joel in Afghanistan with a rear brake set up. Man, this is awesome. I have a bid in on some WP forks that I bid on before I posted here. Sorry. Anyway, still need OEM triple clamps and stem. Front rotor and brake set up. Handlebar switches. Again, I have to get the box to see what little stuff is gone also. Ole Scrap would get such a kick out of this.

I might have a stock rotor as well Brian, I think I may have some stock S1 switchs as well. Throttle assembly too.
I'll check if you still need them.

Brian,

Try contacting St.Paul HD and talk to Tim the EBAY GURU.

If there is anything they have that you need.... If you source it by this friday(giving them time to pick it from the warehouse). I will deliver it to Shreveport. I will be heading back down to Little Rock this saturday.

Be sure to let us all know well in advance the opening date for Richard's display. I'd like to be there and show support. The more the better.

Loki,

Funny you mention St. Paul, that's exactly who I linked him to in my emails to their eBay store since they have about everything he needs new.

They have New S1 forks, S1 controls, rotor, bars, headlight brackets, handlebar clamps. I figured for the restoration and a museum display, new would be the way to go.

It took some pretty good detective work!!!!

Blake,

The induction ceremony is Saturday Aug. 7th. I don't know if we can have it ready but we are going to try. Ricky Farmer is going to do the rebuild. It is pretty rough.

Wilson,

I can't take all the credit. I had some good help.

Here's the story. Back about 8 years ago I sold the bike because I was getting going in my business. I sold it in Shreveport to one of the local club members, I think he was in a Bandido support club. Anyway, what he did with it I don't know. He subsequently laid down his patch, took the bike and moved to Florida to go to MMI where he graduated and went to work at a local aftermarket shop. He pulled the motor and front end and put them on his Sportster. After that he sold the bike to his dad in pieces and moved to Pelham, Al. and went to work at the Harley shop. That's where I found him with the help of one of Scrap's former lady friends who happen to remember him from H-D functions back in the day. I just cold called him out of the blue and asked if he still had it and he said no but that he thought that his dad still had the pieces his shed down in Fla. Come to find out this guy had actually ridden his Sportster from Alabama to Richard's funeral but I didn't recall him being there. There was over a thousand people at the funeral home. Anyway, I explained about the museum and asked if he would contact his dad and see if the pieces could be bought. I heard back from him in a day or two and the deal was done. The first thing I did was call my parents and let them know that "Mighty Whitey" was found and coming home to stay this time and that Ricky and I were going to restore it to it's former race winning glory. Anyway, that's the deal.

Brian,
If you can use 'em, I have a pair of '96 S1 forks I don't need that I could contribute to the cause. They would need refurbishing for best performance but are otherwise OK.
