Funny observation Glitch.
I have such a hard time.
There's this thing called a "long i" that for the life of me I can't imitate.
My son says "Dad, you say "ah" that is not how you say the "i" sound.
Oh well, it's OK, as long as I'm told I have a "sophisticated Southern accent" I'm cool. ; )
There's a girl I know named Fawn, around here they say "Fon", I pronounce the "w", she says I talk "country".

Hey, Spidey, there's always next time.
I still have our poster!

Why would anybody, regardless of opinion, click on a thread titled "GM loan repaid?" if they didn't want to read about politics?

GM doesn't make motorcycles.

I'd suggest that ALL such individuals have the RIGHT to restrict their internet use to STRICTLY motorcycle-specific forums.

I wrote you in, Spidey. My vote, unfortunately, doesn't count since I'm a permanent absentee voter. I vote by mail, always have. It is my OPINION that votes by mail are never counted.

Yes it was Froggy. but then it took a Right turn as usually does on here. It's ashame that GM was able to repay their loan off and keep millions of Americans working because there are those who would really like to see our country fail!

Also I haven't seen any mention of the fact that the United States economy is making a faster recovery than any other European country. It also seems like the stock market is doing pretty good here too! That sure is bad news for those who want the United States to fail, isn't it?

Oh-well I guess we'll just have to keep riding our motorcycles since all the news here is so bad.

Yes, it is, but with a few more "socialized" industries, and multi-thousand page bills no one will read before voting on, without the promised delay for public reading & comment, a few more trillion dollar debts, a few more trillion dollar tax increases...Obama's crew will make America fail yet.

After all, they promised that "obama won't let you go back" to being a free citizen. You'll be a good little subject. Or else.

I have to agree with Rush on this one, and that really annoys me.
If Barack Obama want's to make America a socialist nation, I hope He fails.
America, that I want to succeed. If you don't see the difference, sorry comrade.

It is? when did that happen? GM has not and IMO never will pay off the taxpayers money. Why should they? It's Union Owned now.

They got a bail out from tax payers and then to pay it back they used tax payer's TARP money.
How is that paying anything back?

GM has screwed the taxpayers, their unions have screwed the rank-and-file, the Government has screwed ME in their blind hurry-up "they're too big to fail" fantasy on the entire thing.

I'll continue to buy used vehicles when I need one (except motorcycles)... well except I'm looking for a Hodaka and BSA (kinda hard to buy new)

I am having trouble understanding how anybody would think a thread titled "GM Loan repaid?" could be anything other than political in nature, unless somebody just paid off his car.

Reading the original post was a big clue for me.

Dana,

My tutoring fee is exorbitant, but if you are up for it, and if you are a good student, then you'll likely end up with a wealth of fancy new vocabulary including some of the most impressive cutting edge terms such as "y'all", "fixin' to", "might-could", "t'ain't nuthin", "cowboy up" and more. ; )

FYI: Imploring me to "let it go" or to "let it be over" followed by yet more personal commentary has about the same effect as imploring a grizzly bear to let you be as you continue to poke him with a stick. I figured you knew that about me old friend. Have you not been paying attention for the past twelve years?

Blake, the photo you posted of Mr. Obama during his recent visit to Ft. Hood after the massacre there...

...and similar photos I've seen of our President refusing to show proper respect to our country and our flag, makes me very, very angry.

Democrat, Republican, or otherwise, the citizens of this country should DEMAND his immediate resignation.

Better yet, if he was an honorable man he'd apologize for his deplorable behavior and resign.

It must be a real morale-buster to be a member of our armed forces and know that your Commander-in-Chief has so little respect for your service and sacrifice.

I'm no fan of our former President, but at least he was (and is) a patriotic American.

Mr. Obama should be deported to Kenya on the very next boat.

ReindogForgerTom -

Well, I did take most of the day off and log another 180 miles on the RK, but I'm back to w*rk now and this'd be the real FB.

I very seldom post on a "political" thread, but dammit, our President's behavior is nothing less than outrageous.

There has always been a lot of political discourse at work and such but it usually would just pop up once in awhile when a politician did something dumb. The last 3-1/2 years has become a constant barrage complaining about how the leadership is steering this huge ship right at the iceberg.

This isn't by just the right side either. Many lefties are quite upset by what is going on and can't wait until November. Since this thread was started about GM, have you heard any of the main-stream media discussing it? No, that is why people are getting pissed.

FB,

You can now double dip me in s**t, pinch my cheeks, and call me Sally. I always took you for a BHL and assumed you were a "lip locking with Obama" kind of guy. Don't know why....I just thought that and it is refreshing to be mistaken just this once. : )

I know now that Obama really IS in big trouble as he WILL be a one term president. A half term president would be better but his lackeys in Congress will never go for it if Hillary can't find a way to stab him in the back. You have made my day, sir!

Yeah, it's the Quayle effect. Obama is safe with Biden as V.P.

( Bush the younger had a V.P. that scared them for other reasons. )

The Obama Crotch Salute is annoying.

Tradition is not his bag. Also Not Bowing to Kings, standing by his promises, ( rare in D.C ) keeping his nations promises, ( ask Poland ) and what was once known as "class" ( see Bush the Elder & his silence on Clinton ) all are boosh-waa-zee things that don't apply to the New Man in the white house. Silly of us to think he cares.

Rejection of respect for tradition is a common attitude with adolescents, and leftists typically are arrested in their emotional growth about that stage.

Maybe that's why I never get a response to questions like, "If a politician told you Saddam had WMD's, and you are certain he lied to you, why believe anything else he says?" I just get that cricket sound back.....
