Geesh Jerry, what did you expect showing up at a classy place with Prior? The only way it would've been worse if if you had me along. Like the WalMart in Appleton where we got followed by security and stopped before we left the store for buying a baseball! We really need to ride together again someday. |

I got it, Jerry. And I enjoyed "Wild Hogs" myself. Having done the cross country road trip myself and having NO idea what I was getting myself into, I could identify with a lot of things in that movie. Not the whole blowing-up-the-bar-of-the-nasty-1%er thing, or even the avoiding-the-gay-cop thing... but some of the "little" things. I'm just sorry that my trip didn't end up with Marisa Tomei at the end, that's all. |

We're drifting off topic again. Remind me again why Wandell is such an a**-wipe?? |

Wayne and Jaime - Sorry for taking a shot at you gents. Some days I get a little too righteous for my own good I guess. No need to be sorry on my account. My whole point was i don't fix the stereotype HD crowd of which there are way too many at any one time in an HD shop. That being said, the service guy was super nice and they took care of me without any problems. In fact, I had some of the best service in town at this dealership. So, while he poked fun at my attire, it was just that fun. And if people are too uptight about that, I feel sorry for them. I take none of it seriously. Hell, I have three bikes, two Buells and one BMW. We all have stereotypes that we lump folks into. Problem is, I'm just passionate about bikes, if Honda or Suzuki made a bike that I got excited about any more, I'd probably have one of those in my stable as well. So, No worries from me. Wayne |

As I read the "Wandell Report" on why Buell was shuttered, the brow of my eye raised numerous times... 1. Am I to believe that the mighty cash jugarnaught (sp) of h-d would let Buell exist for 16 years without making a profit? 2. Am I to believe enough Buells were purchased to "dilute" the strength of h-d? 3. 16 years of losing money? h-d must have had some "real bright" people there. Either that, or Buell was providing twisted numbers to h-d. 4. I can see where other dealers believed a Buell shutdown was invetiable. They didn't understand/support/promote the brand. However, with an AMA championship in hand and the B2 nearing completion, the tide was set to change... 5. Nearly all numbers can be twisted to show what you want them to show... Perhaps Wandell needs to lay out ALL the numbers for Buell and Harley to provide an acurate presentation of what exactly was going on? I am not a corporate head or an accountant, but Wandells skewed numbers just don't seem right. 6. I must have really missed something in the last 7 years... With exception to certain dealers, I never really saw much intergated sales and marketing of Buell by h-d... Further, it was not that easy to get "standard parts" as the dealer would usually have to order them on their "order day" (usually a certain day of the week). Wandell may have been involved with such "transactions" before, but it didn't involve Buell. I bet h-d could have either broke even or made a few bucks if they had sold off Buell. They could have supported the XB series under license until the required time expired. 7. In the end, WANDELL decided that eliminating the brand was the most practical move... 8. I wonder if those Buell managers who were consulted actually worked for Buell, or were they more h-d employees watching over Buell? 9. Wandell, if you feel bad about the decision now, imagine how bad you will feel in a few years when Erik Buell designed bikes capture a share of the sportbike market? A share that h-d would have been able to claim and dominate the ENTIRE motorcycle market, if only h-d would have let Erik "run with it"... 10. Wandell, if the last quarter was an indication of h-d's future, the future doesn't look so bright... That is all... |

We all know the exec that can save HD. He is working on his hobby and enjoying life. About 3 quarter of 2010 he should be being given the a job offer from a Privately held HD. Elves Flick for example need to drafted as well, there are too many to list here. One can only hope HD s new owners will see the potential of this team. Opps nearly forgot the thread WANDELL IS WORSE THAN USELESS |

Dave, every time I go thru the photos from the FBRAT ride and see this one of you... ...I thank my lucky stars we weren't arrested at WalMart that morning and hauled off to the hoosgow! (Note to self: Get on Google and find some lick 'n stick "Kool-Aid" tattoos...) Come on down - I bet we can all find some trouble to get in. I'm just sorry that my trip didn't end up with Marisa Tomei at the end, that's all. Jaime, I've ridden around the country several times and my trips have always ended with Denise. Lucky me. Problem is, I'm just passionate about bikes... Wayne, thx for the kind comeback, and for your words of wisdom. Jerry: You've still got hair? Thang, I gots a little, but it looks lots better if I leave my helmet on... FB |

"Hee Hee Hee" Thanks Dave, I'll take that as a very good sign! Re the intellectual property, don't forget what Erik Buells dad did for a living. Back to douche canoe... When Buell was shutdown my thought was that Wandell was still the relatively "new guy", and I assumed that nefarious forces within H-D's corporate ranks might have taken advantage of that and convinced him that shutting down Buell was the only sensible option. Since then Wandell has shown his ignorance of motorcycling, his greed, a lack of humility, and arrogance, and that has just really got on my nerves. I feel he has insulted the "people of Buell", and I'd like to see him do something to make up for that. I think one of the things that gets me is that when people talk about meeting Erik Buell they always mention his passion for motorcycles. How could that not rub off on Wandell? Or is he dead from the neck up? I hope that Wandell grows to seriously regret his decision to shutdown Buell.

I come home to her NOW, but my first cross-country trip was before I ever met her. Wait... you know Denise too??

What's this regret that I'm starting to see with Wandell and the shutdown? I haven't seen him express any regret yet. |
