His Mom rides, his Dad rides. He even putts around in the yard on his PW50. He looks a little like a donkey on a june bug, but I can't get him on the 80. He drives a go cart like a true maniac though. I can't figure him out. He has steadfastly refused to ride with us on the road. The only time he would even sit behind his Mom on her bike, he insisted on holding the keys. We didn't want to force him, I thought maybe today. I was talking about hunting a payphone for "the riding game" and suggested we all ride. No way! How about ice cream. No. How about pizza and then ice cream. No. Beck thought there might be a pay phone just down the street, so he finally decided he could ride that far to see if he liked it okay(or if he survived it). Hmmm, not so bad, so on to the pizza place. I think we've got something going now. It sure will make it easier to go on more regular little rides when we can ALL go! I'm excited! Maybe in a couple of years, he'll even ride with me! Rotzaruck!
I hope your son continues to enjoy riding with Becky. Our oldest loves riding with her Daddy. They've taken weekend trips on the Uly to C3 Jr. events and up to VIR for the races.
She's now 15 and has her learner's permit and she can't wait to turn 16 and get her endorsement. We'll be broke next year!
The little guys like riding, but only Baylee can reach the pegs on the Blast. Luke is still limited on his riding time.
My son and I have ridden together, first in the dirt and now on the street, on separate bikes, since he was about six years old. He is on a nice SV1000 Suzuki and I ride my 1125R. Its very special and I am grateful to still have the ability and competitive nature to use these bikes as they were meant to be ridden while being extremely careful on these canyon twisties. Thank God for a great son and fine riding companion. Bob
Our's could reach the pegs at 5 and has been riding ever since. We picked him up from school the day we got the Uly, and I could hear him giggling the whole way home!
I really enjoy riding my kids on my Uly, but dang it, the youngest is nineteen now and he is bigger than me. And I have had to nearly dis-own my oldest.....he just bought a new Ultra Classic Custom Limited with five letters after it. He is into the "life style leather look" thanks to his father-in-law.
I have tried to get the youngest to get on the ball and get his MSF and license, but he lost interest a bit a couple of years ago as he did a near endo on the Blast when I was not home one day. Then a few days later my son in law did a bad flip endo on my son's four wheeler ending up in a life flight to the hospital. And he never liked the idea that I wrecked at Road America.
