My goal is to have a cool ass bike haha.im not going full cafe or bobber look but more of a mix of both with a lot of rat bike. the sub fram is gettin chopped for a solo seat, the swing are is gettin streced 4inches. rear sets, bars, makeing a new wirein harness. mixed matched exhaust. this is the demo tank. im gonna use the stock tank but i gotta fill in where the honda logos used to be. the "paint" is just gonna be total random shit.

Way cool! Are you going to at least drill the front brake? Man, talk about scary, once they heat up... |

The front brake is a twin leading shoe...if properly adjusted and maintained it is actually quite good...of course in repetitive hard use, as in racing...it will heat up and fade...but on the street it is pretty good. I had one that I installed shoes with metallic linings, but for the life of me, I can't remember the brand...I'm sure they are out of production nowdays anyway...but you could send a set of shoes off and have them relined with metallic material...they would need to be arched to fit the drum precisely to get the best action however. Remember that as old as those brakes are...if you work on them...be very careful with the dust...they are "organic" linings....read that as they contain asbestos... Stay on top of your oil changes and filter maintenance...the cam bearings in those motors will not tolerate poor oiling...there was a company that would install needle roller bearings in the cam towers...maybe it was poweroll??? damn my memory..that was only 40 or so years ago...
