I have been on the internet and my own automotive forums looking for this information for two weeks. even gave Borg Warner and Tremec a few calls each with no luck. I need these dimensions for the very common and old 4 bolt transmission pattern for T10/Muncie/Saginaw/etc. NOT the bell-to-engine bolt pattern but the trans-to-bell bolt pattern. the only thing that i have been able to find is this... but i'm not even going to begin the rant that explains how that doesn't really show me jack sh**! LOL So if ANY one out there already has these and would like to share or knows who i can get in contact with i would LOVE it. thanks guys! Nick |

thanks guys. i will try lakewood. forgot about them. i have also thought about contacting other shops that make custom bell housings to adapt trannys to certain engines... but i can imagine that they wouldn't want to give that info out, they'd rather sell you a product. |

Crappy weather and I'm bored so I set up a OEM bellhousing on the mill and this is what I came up with. -X 4.1270 +Y 1.995........+X 4.1180 +Y 1.995 -X 4.2470 -Y 2.808........+X 4.8750 -Y 2.808 Center hole on mine measured 4.690). |

HOLY CRAP! you got those measurments from the exact center of the hole (input shaft center/crank center)? YOU'RE THE MAN! (Message edited by texastechx1 on April 25, 2010) (Message edited by texastechx1 on April 25, 2010) |

Reference being the center of the output shaft hole? Seems logical looking at the + and - numbers Never thought of using a mill and DRO as a measuring tool, seems logical now. (Message edited by Greg_E on April 25, 2010) |

If you don't have all you need on that, I have one or two lying around. I can get some pics for you if needed with measurements. I have a Muncie around here if you need input shaft, throw-out sleeve diameters and depth measurements. |

i was able to get input shaft lengths and what not, those weren't that hard to get. i was abel to get the ford and chevy t5 pattern and even the T56 6-speed but for some reason this pattern was the most difficult. so... want to sell that Muncie? (Message edited by texastechx1 on April 26, 2010) |

want to sell that Muncie? Not particularly. It was used in my last two dirt track cars years ago. It is numbers matching to my '71 LT1 350. Came out of a wrecked Vette I bought back in the late 70's. It was what good race cars were made of back in that era. Ahhh the good old days! 350/350 ported, cammed, and carb'd for 450+ hp, WFO, sideways on the clay hi-banks! The winds might blow right for a need to fit that stuff back into a '71 Vette chassis someday. It is all rebuildable. |
