From Erik Buell Racing:
Yep, the 1190RR won in its first outing! Can't wait for more pictures and details. Many thanks to the Pegasus team, who are so talented, and were the first to bet that EBR and the 1190RR were the real deal!

Awesome! First race, first win....first BIKE (I think). If they can get it "that" right, right out of the box....great stuff : )

Let the "I told ya so"'s begin! (somebody should make sure to call Flick, right in the middle of a meeting with Wandell, to "make sure he heard" about the win!)

Folks it´s done! The E.B.R 1190 RR-B Superbike took the first victory with Harald Kitsch.

Manni Kehrmann took 2nd with the 1125 R in the Pro Thunder.

Robin Taborski finished 6th in his first Buellrace.

Well done! More soon.

Glitch, it's the European Sound of Thunder championship, which is basically unlimited Twins racing. You can run an 1198 Ducati World Superbike or a turbo push-rod Twin. KTM won last year with the RC8, while Julius Ilmberger was close behind on his Buell.

From www.art-motor.de who I think run the Sound of Thunder series (translation by google):

"In bright sunshine at the weekend was the prelude to the 2010 Sport Bike Masters across the stage. Prominent guests such as IDM Karl Muggeridge and Meik Minnerop enriched the field, but abandoned on a rating, so that the amateurs were on the podium between them. Brandenburg sun was definitely sporty racing, even if the fields naturally, given the early start of the season yet did not display the usual strength.

The densest Fights developed in the Pro Thunder, where Jan Teichmann on Ducati 999 Manfred Kehrmann on Buell 1125 R and Malte Siedenburg on Ducati 998 with new 848-implanted heart let themselves behind.

In the twenty ProBEARS Bernd (Ducati took 749) his first win against Dirk Mothes (748) and Stefan Solterbeck (street triple).

The Sound of Thunder, which caused a furore in the field of Superbikes, dominated defending champion Harald kitsch with the new Buell 1190 R of Pegasus Race team clear about Ralph skull (998 RS) and Peter Rehder (1098 S).

The victory in the Superbike B took Tino Spieth (GSX-R 1000) from Carsten Höschele (Ducati 1098 S) and Ferdi Schmarje (BMW S 1000 RR) as well as Jan Christiansen (GSX-R 1000) in the Open Superbike before Julius Ilmberger ( BMW S 1000 RR) and Philip Christensen (R1).

Clearly in the grip Tom Pfromm had on the Triumph 675 Supersport B, number 2 and 3 went to Lars Barkholt (R6) and Jason Van (ZX 6R). Alex shaft (CBR 600 RR), Rino Caluzzi (R6) and Dominik Borgelt (R6) were named the top 3 in the Supersport Open on the first day.

The Classic flags were only SuperclassiX and Thunder BEARS high - especially TTF1-SuperclassiX winner Mikal Henriksen (RC 30), Christian Richings (ZXR 750, No.2), Wolfgang Harbusch (RC 30, 3rd place) and Hans-Werner Bischoff (TTF2 Honda CBR-winner on 600th in the Thunder roared Frank Claussner BEARS (900 SS) superior to the finish before Arne Bast (Ducati MH 1000) and Peter Bigalke (Ducati 900 + 16). "

As far as I understand they run the Superbikes and the Sound of Thunder bikes in the same races. Note this is not the German Superbike (IDM) series, I don't know if the Superbike regs differ, but I think some of the entrants are the same.

Race results:

Race 1
http://www.art-motor.de/sites/action/racing/10/mas tersofspeed/result/RaceFull%20Race%201%20Superbike %20B+O%20+%20SoT.pdf

Race 2
http://www.art-motor.de/sites/action/racing/10/mas tersofspeed/result/RaceFull%20Race%202%20Superbike %20B+O%20+%20SoT.pdf

I can't figure out a way to easily copy and paste the results. Have a look, from the numbers the Harald Kitsch on the Pegasusraceteam 1190RR was first in Sound of Thunder, second place overall, beaten to outright 1st in both races by Jan Christiansen on the Team Moto-Sport Racing GSXR-1000. In the first race the gap between the two was only 0.421 seconds. : D Put another way Harald beat all the Superbikes except one : D

"That belt drive stuff will never work"

Neither will that perimeter brake. I thought all european racers were converting the front brakes because ztl/ztl2 did not work. At least that is what I have been led to believe.

Man, how did they do it? An engine that cannot put out the claimed power without exploding, inferior brakes, belt drive (granted not all are using the belt).

Either way, great job to the Pegasus race team. You guys are doing a great job of carrying the Buell flag!

What I want to see is all motorcycle experts on all the other motorcycle websites tell us about how they are cheating and it is unfair.

Killer background the Duc and Kawi make.

Kawi maybe, but the red bike is a Triumph D675- much classier than a Duc.

The Duc. Has more displacement...If they say Buell is cheating then Ducati has been cheating for many years. F the in-line fours and the whinners...I wonder if Wendall ever heard the term win on Sunday sell on Monday? Be damn sure Bombardier is keeping a close eye on superbike!!!
