Can't work today due to taking pain meds last night. I think I'll be hitting a local event. It's a nice ride out toward St Charles where there's an event going on.

I was thinking about infiltrating the anti-teaparty crowd. Get to shout a few racist & anti-religious slogans, maybe revive the old Ho, Ho, Ho Chi Min! of days past. I'm sure the crew protesting the tea party Know that one by heart!

Need a new shirt "Latte Party.... ( in small print ) for those who don't like the taste of the govt. organized Coffee party.

Or maybe "Purple is the new Brown".

I'm off no matter what I do. I'm not sure what that has to do with the ridiculous spending and government expansion that the BO administration has taken on.

I went to one after work in Lincoln City, Oregon. Right next to Hwy 101 and the beach right at our backs. Appeared to me that about 40% of the cars had honking horns, thumbs up and waving from those inside,,It was Cool!

American is now the 2nd most expensive place to run a business.
Where have all the industry gone?
They've gone to where it's not so expensive to run their industry.
If you'd like it to come back, the government will create all kinds of jobs, they're working on it right now, can't you tell?
Focused like a laser they are, the VAT will fix that, right?
Government getting larger and larger, that's what we need!
A government spending more than any other ever, that's what we need!
All they need to do is print more money!
The people are the reason this country is so expensive, the government is the answer, right?
Tax those capitalist pig dog rich people, after all we need to give the poor a chance to hire people.
Making fun of the Tea Baggers is the best thing we can do!
Marginalize them!
Degrade them!
Make them look like racists!
Small government is bad government!
Social Justice!
Redistribution of wealth!
I get it now!
Y'all have opened my eyes!

Fine businesses going overseas than Tax the living shit out of any of their product coming into the country. Make it so expensive to import that paying taxes here feels like receiving a gift.

47% of Tea Partiers Pay No Federal Income Taxes!

Apr 14 2010, 12:30 PM ET
Taxed Enough Already? Or not taxed at all?

One of the striking ironies of Fox News running with the statistic that 47% of Americans might not owe federal income taxes is that Fox News also moonlights as the unofficial station of the Tea Party movement, which clamors for lower taxes. You might ask: half of the country pays no income tax, how much lower do you want? Here's a more troubling point: if the Tea Party movement has a similar share of Americans making under $50,000 as the broader population (as a recent Gallup poll suggests), then why is this movement rallying under the banner "Taxed Enough Already!" when half of them aren't taxed at all?

Forty-five percent of self-identified "Tea Partiers" make less than $50,000 per year, according to a USA Today/Gallup poll. Similarly, 50% of the total population makes less than $50,000 in the same poll. Despite this author's lack of direct access to the tax returns of the Tea Party movement, it seems safe to assume that if about half the country avoids federal income taxes, a similar percentage of the Tea Party movement gets away with the same even as they march and scream about their tax burden.

This is a gotcha point. But it's a gotcha point worth making, if only to shine light on the sad intellectual bankruptcy of the Tea Party, a political movement that has taken over the news cycle like a particularly aggressive strain of ragweed. Tea Partiers want lower income taxes. But many of them probably don't pay income taxes. If we listen to them and bring even more Americans into the zero-income tax pool, we would only concentrate more of the tax burden on wealthy earners ... which conservatives are against. Tea Party apologists on TV will explain that what they're really asking for is lower rates and a broader tax base to diffuse America's tax responsibility. But if half the Tea Party doesn't pay income taxes today, a broader tax base -- even with minuscule rates -- would raise many of their taxes!

The party's labyrinthine position on tax policy isn't worth untangling any further. It's a Gordian Knot that deserves a guillotine. When liberals and conservatives in Congress and think tanks and conference rooms debate tax policy in the coming months, they should consider a wide buffet of reform options -- but hold the tea.

I think Glitch is using Sarcasm.....

I pretty much thought everyone here knew my stance on government and taxes.
I've been a proponent of The Fair Tax for years.
In 2007 I thought we really had a chance at some tax reform, that was until all the "stimulus", "government rescues", "bail outs", "social justice", "class warfare" and the like.
While industrial mega-centers are falling, rotting, and pretty much becoming nonexistent, the only place that seems to have a positive job growth is D.C.
That's all well and good for those that want a government job, what's going to happen when they've printed so much money the dollar is worth shit, and the wealth has moved to off shore banks, and what industry is left has gone to greener pastures, who's left to pay off China?
What'll happen when China decides not to buy any more of our debt?
What'll happen when China decides they're going to call in our debt, when we're paying them with borrowed money as it stands now?

lol! teabaggers r stoopid!
You just don't get it.
While you're correct statistically.
The government has to raise money to match any money spent.
So far the way they're doing it is to tax the evil rich, corporations, that God forbid, make a profit, and borrow money from China.
That isn't sustainable.
Not by a long shot.
America is the 2nd most expensive country in the world to do business.
So, businesses are moving elsewhere.
No jobs are being created, means more people are dependent on government.
Used to I thought if I worked hard enough, I could have anything I wanted.
I'm not sure I feel that way any longer.
Small business is the producer of most jobs in this country.
Taxes and government regulation are killing small business.
Calling me or anyone "stoopid", really shows your intelligence.
Hell, just look around your great state and tell me what great favors the government is doing for y'all.

Where I was had a nice peaceful event. The no chanting or anything like that, just folks with signs on the sidewalk. Loudest thing was all the honking in support. I would agree with Metalrabbit that somewhere around 40% or so were honking to show support. Others quietly gave a thumbs up. I was surprised at some who showed support. More blacks than I would have ever thought. A landscaping truck full of Hispanics all gave us a thumbs up and was honking. Quite a few young people too.

We did have one car stop and yell that we should be thrown in jail. We all got a laugh at that. Funny thing is that she actually sounded angry and serious. Imagine that, someone who thinks conservatives should be jailed for peacefully expressing their political beliefs.

lol! teabaggers r stoopid!

The stupidity is on the part of your author and anyone who swallows that crap. Taxation is but a single issue as it was in the 1776 revolution. Please keep up the propaganda campaign though. The more people hear from both sides the more the side with the Tea Party folks. Can anyone cite an example of a political movement that has grown this fast in their lifetime? I can't. 18 months ago this didn't even exist. Yesterday there were hundreds of people gathering in thousands of places across the nation - on a work day, with a great deal of support from traffic flowing by. Sure it's just a fringe element.

it's all the fault of the American workers! They refuse to work at the same wage scale as the Chinese do so corporate America has exported all our jobs overseas.

Now if everyone did like I did, take a 40% pay cut, then you could have a job selling all the Chinese made stuff like I do.

You'd have to be a complete moron to think that the tea party movement is only about federal income taxes.

My take, and I count myself a tea partier, is that it is a constitutionalist, libertarian, and fiscal conservative movement.

The talk now is moving to imposing a VAT (national sales tax) to overcome the deficit spending to make up the trillions that the recent nationalized health insurance law tax burden that will soon emerge to crush American prosperity and freedom.

Will the Tea Party Express be there? No thanks! Sarah Palin has made more money off of the "tea party movement" over the past 9 months than Barack and Michelle Obama have made in their entire lifetimes, combined! Protests are not supposed to be for-profit, capitalist enterprises. Grass roots organizations do not have multi-billion dollar media corporations as partners.

Something seems amiss with the "tea party movement". "teabaggers r stoopid!" Yep, that's it!
