Yeah, but they're going to alienate all their older mature riders. Right? |

>>Who would want to buy a sportbike?<< Not me. A Uly or an XR1200X eg is a much better bike for road and street use. |

Dave is gently slipping into that Harley demographic. Jk, I wouldn't want one either, really. But obviously there are a few out there that do. Did. Whatever. ~SM |

For all the stuff I do - I see myself as a designer. I like solutions to problems. Not machines that create them. If you are a track enthusiast it's beautiful. I love it. As a road bike it's a big exercise in self control - if I want to keep my licence. I'd much rather ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. |

Its a great bike, not my style, but I am certainly not their target market for it either.... now if they would get more realistic with their price on the 400 Adventure bike... then I would put a BMW in the garage. Besides if Wandell did get the memo... do you think he would read it ? |

2010 Guidance For 2010, the Company expects to ship 201,000 to 212,000 Harley-Davidson motorcycles to dealers and distributors worldwide, a reduction of five to ten percent from 2009. “We believe 2010 will continue to be a challenging year,” Wandell noted. In the first quarter of 2010, Harley-Davidson expects to ship 52,000 to 57,000 motorcycles. Gross margin is expected to be between 32.0 percent and 33.5 percent for the full year. The Company expects full-year capital expenditures of between $235 million and $255 million, including $95 million to $110 million to support restructuring activities. BMW is a rounding error compared to the bikes HD ships. |

you know full well that is not the point jaimec is making. i have no desire to buy a bmw either but that could have been the barracuda II on that page instead. i did forward that to wandell just in case he didn't see it. Dave is gently slipping into that Harley demographic sometimes me thinks he's on the payroll. |

That is in the U.K only. I guess with proper marketing a company only known for old -guy bikes can make a sportbike appeal to a younger demographic. Wow those BMW guys must be really smart. Why can't it be done here? |

If I could have any single bike at the moment - just for me - no passenger or 'sensible' considerations - it would be a HP2 Megamoto. |

I don't like what happened to Buell - but I do get paid to have an open mind and I take the Harley products for what they are - Very nice bikes that I enjoy riding. I thinks the same about Triumphs, Suzukis, several Kawasakis, a number of Hondas, there are some Yamahas I'd like, about 6 Harleys that I could dig, I spose Suzuki doesn't really have a model that sings to me currently, but there's several I would happily recommend for the right application. I take Harley riders at face value without pre judging them for their fashion sense too. Some of them are life-long friends. I don't mind springing to their defence when they are sterotyped. |

I'll just keep my finger on the trigger and hope victory gets something going with Buell and in 5 years they surpass Hardley for sales in a global market when you add in polaris sales as well. Then BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told you so!!!!! |

Tiger is you - late model with the Showa suspenders. cut the windscreen off it, Arrow pipe, Avon VP2 rubber. Best all rounder on tarmac available. My next test bike is a Guzzi Stelvio. Going to do a 2-up dirt roads tour on it. Should be perfick for it. |

I'm looking more at the Speed Triple. The ergos are VERY similar to an SS with the rear wheel more like a CR. Plus, DAYUM!, it's purdy! |

2kx1 and Neverenuf got the point I was trying to make. Everyone else ran off on a tangent. And yes, those sales numbers are for the U.K. only. But based on my riding buddies' reactions, they're going to sell a ton of those things here too. |

Oh, I got the point. I was just over the discussion. Wandell's a tard. He missed the boat. No amount of "I told you so" make me feel better at this point. |

A buddy of mine that is a salesman for Gina's BMW in Iowa City has been bugging me to try one. I told him that I try not to drive vehicles that I don't want to buy (I ended up with an '03 Benz C240 last summer by breaking that rule). He has been selling bikes like crazy so far this year. Even passed up on our trip to Utah to make money. |

Do any of you look at vehicles and get a face out of the front of them? I really love the bike till I get to the front of it. Then all I can think of is Cockeyed.

BMW is a rounding error compared to the bikes HD ships. NOT, BMW sales were down last year to 87000 from 101000 the year before. Not as good as HD but certainly a very big number. |
