I got ECM Spy hooked up and working on my 2001 S3T this weekend. I got what I think is the Race ECM burned in and then cut the maximum RPM's back down to stock settings. So far nothing seems to be screwed up. I just need to resist the temptation to tinker too much. I borrowed the cable from a friend so I guess I better go out and buy one of my own. |

Right on. ECMSpy's been an unexpected bonus feature/acc'y to owning my 1st Buell, XB. You'll want your own cable. |

I was reading up on the ecmspy website about making a cable; I have no problem doing that, but does anyone have a good source for the bike-end connector and pins? Have a new EBR ECM coming for the Uly, and I suspect I'll have to do a TPS reset to install it...unless they didn't clear the setting from when it was previously installed in my bike. |

New ecm,new TPS reset. But why are you getting the race ecm when you can use ECM-Spy to do what you need to your stocker? |

ECMSpy is a great tool, but you really need to figure out how to use MegaLogViewer along with it. Try to NOT spread your tuning over days with varying weather though. Once I got a map figured out for my 06 XB12 it's been running great. The midrange detonation I had is gone and I don't seem to have the midrange hole that everyone claims you get from a Jardine muffler. The best thing is that it is just better behaved in normal driving around town though. Plus you can do your own TPS resets, so no reason to visit the place that shall not be mentioned. |

Ratbuell, I ordered the bike end connector thru a Cycle Gear store locally. I was looking thru one of their catalogs for something else and came across the connector. The sockets for it were also there. I bought two connectors and a package of ten sockets. One connector was used for a cable assembly and the other for a jumper to recall trouble codes though a couple of the sockets alone would also work fine. I think the price was around $15. The catalog was one that listed a lot of Harley parts and accessories. It also had a section on electrical connectors and this one was listed. I don't recall the name on the catalog but if it's important I could probably find out. |
