So check this out! A movie has been made about the Slimey Crud Run. A friend is picking me up in 10 minutes to go see it. It is called "American Cafe". Should be crazy!!! |

Ok. Here is the poop. Turns out these guys were all graduate students in Madison who happened to be into motorcycles, became friends and named their "gang" tounge in cheek The Slimey Crud Motorcycle Gang. They mostly rode European models and liked microbrew beer... they discovered the Sprecher bar up in Leland... where, much to my surprise I saw for myself last year, you can buy a fine firearm from the owner while having a brew. The first run had about 40 bikes. Today they get around 300... unusual bikes that people have stripped down to make into "Cafe Racers"... Kindof funny that I have been going to this thing for years and didn't know any of this... so yeah it was well done. Best part was the group of cute guys asking about my Buell after the show tho... |

I just got back from the SCR. What a great day...beautiful weather and lots of really cool vintage bikes. There was a great showing of Buells too. I was 1 of probably 10 Ulysses riders and there were a bunch of other models too. This was my first Slimey Crud Run and it won't be my last! |

Life has conspired to keep me away once again. Do you think the movie will make it to DVD? How about to other theaters? Or is this one of those Sundance Film Festival type movies shot handheld and edited in someone's garage? (Which would be just fine if it is.) |

WTF is going on here? Is that a Busa sub frame and tail? Looks like it doesn't even come close to matching up with the frame! Holy smokes, i just noticed the forward controls too... (Message edited by americanmadexb on May 03, 2010) |

Whatever I actually saw you and the other Buellers in Leland also. I didn't have my Buell shirt on so I was in semi-hiding out. Instead I chose to wear my own American Streetfighter T-shirt. The back has a picture of two pistons on lightning bolts and states "life's to short to ride a bike that whines" |
