Would it be wrong to buy a used Fatbob? That is the only Harley a want. And I figure if I get it used, I'll be helping a fellow rider and not H-D. |

I'll re-word it...Owning an H-D product when I hate the company...Even though I will buy it used. Is it wrong? |

HD will have better management in the future. I don't see much reason to hate the WHOLE company simply because they have retarded folks running the shop. They are good bikes. |

If you are really here asking, then you must have some problems with spending the money, so yes it is wrong. Go buy a used Victory or one of the Japanese cruisers if that makes your conscience better. |

Who knows if you buy the Fatbob, maybe Erik will be nice enough to tell you how to really get the most out of that motor! I hear he's kinda good with stuff like that. |

i also had reservations about getting a h-d bike. i went to the hd museum shortly after the announcement last october. we had planned the trip for a long time. (h-d has a great story of its own, although they never seemed to get off the starting line with anything but the real steel) everyone we met was upset about the decision, but was not in any position to stop or alter it. bottom line was i really wanted to get a sportster (yes i know my buells handle better and are way quicker, but taken for what they are they are sooo coool!!!) i wound up getting an 883 to commute to work on and gfor short blow off some steam rides. get what you like. |

I got a couple Milwaukee shakers in the garage. Aint selling either one of them. I am eying a 72 XL.... if all goes well, I will add that to the garage as well. Its my money and I will spend it on metal before the govt tries to redistribute it (just had to get political ) |

I know from testing it it's a pretty good bike. You are 'hardly' going to get a balanced view in here though. |

Go buy what floats your boat, it's not the motorcycle's fault whatever has happened. Also, just think of the advantage you'll have when you go to buy Buell spares, If you turn up on a Harley, they'll actually be able to see you! No, not at all bitter & twisted. |

The FatBob is a very capable bike. The Dyna family in general, actually. Solid frame, very little flex, the 'bob has a dual disc front end, and of course all are 96"/6 speed setup. You do have a choice between forward and mid controls...but for a nimble 'cruiser' bike, I like the 'bob. Go denim paint. Scotch-brite any chrome. Never wash, just ride |

The FatBob is the only Harley I actually like. Personally I'd never get one because I think I'd be bored with it in about two days. But I say if you like the thing pick one up and ride the shyte out of it. Make sure you buy all the required pirate gear to go along with it though. * Genuine HD Bandana * Genuine HD Leather vest with patches * Genuine HD fag boots * Genuine HD ear-rings * Genuine HD chaps * Genuine HD black tee shirt Remember... your not just buying a motorcycle, it's the lifestyle... |

I have to agree with Ratbuell about the Dyna platform but I never really dug the dual headlights on the FatBob until I got a closer look at them at the 2009 IMS Show. Right here's the true beauty of the dual headlights:
That's right - the headlight bucket looks like a chrome set of jugs! I wonder where Willie G. got his inspiration from. For some reason the effect is greater in person than in any picture I've ever been able to take, 1313 |

I do like the new 48, but currently am not willing to part my money to h-d. I will own another h-d one day. It won't be new and IF (very BIG IF) it were bought from a dealer, it would only be one dealer... |

This thread would have never existed 5 months ago. But..... thats what HD was hoping for I think... but for what its worth I like the Fat BoB also. A used pre oct. 2009 would be " not cheating" I guess |

I probably wouldn't have considered an HD before June of 2009. Having spent extended periods of time sitting on, examining, starting, riding, and selling them has afforded me the opportunity to gain a much better appreciation for them. |
