Hello all, Hopefully I can get a little advice or at least the two sence of people that know more then I. I will be buying either an 04 xb12r or an 08 1115r in the next couple days... I really love the new 1125's but from what I have read here they seem to have a few problems. I have always loved the xb's as well. So my question is, Would it be worth it to get the 1125? And when I look at it what would everyone suggest I ask the dealer about, aside from the ECM flash, and the stator harness? That you for the help |

You can't go wrong with either of those bikes, XB12R is a perfect every day do everything bike fun at 35,65 or 105. The 1125R is a great bike has tons of top end speed great torque, but the 1125R like to be ridden fast and smoother when turning higher rpms. IMO I had an 04 XB12R sold it to get The 1125R wish I could afford to have both bike. |

Had the option to get an 08 1125r or a 09 XB12Ss for near the same amount, I took the XB. personal choice. |

If you're planning to keep it for the long haul, I'd say go with the XB as parts are more readily available than the 1125 & to my mind it will be more user maintenance friendly. That said, the 1125 will have a greater rarity value. Personally, I'm not a fan of liquid cooled bikes, I like fins. But then, I'm an old git. |

How patient are you? If the 1125 needs something, the wait could be a long one. The 1125 would be more dependent on H-D. If the 12R needs something, they've been around long enough that the chances of finding parts is better. The chances of finding used parts are also better with the 12R. What kind of riding are you going to be doing? 12R twisties are calling. 1125R the track is calling. Both seem to be well mannered on the street. While I'd much rather be on the 1125 if I had a long way to go and had to take the interstate. Daily driver? The 12R is proven reliability. This is only my opinion, but I have a soft spot for air-cooled engines. If Buell hadn't been murdered, I'd have an 1125CR, right beside my XB9. |
