well guys i've got my Eagle Court of Honor on sunday after church for boy scouts. Its a dual ceremony with one of my best friends who joined scouts the same time i did, and got his eagle like a month after i did. We've both got lots of family and friends who are going to be there here. I'll put up some pictures tomarrow if i can find some free time at school to use its high speed internet of some of the things i've done over the years in scouting (suprisingly there arent to many pictures...) i'll have some more from my ceremony on sunday to i bet |

Iman, Congratulations! That is an impressive accomplishment, particularly in this day and age. Be sure to include your Eagle accomplishment on your resume as it does differentiate you from the crowd. |

Agreed. Congratulations. You belong to a small and elite society now. Use it to your advantage; it can stay on that resume for life. |

thanks guys! i'm very proud of it! its let me do a ton of things that i would have not been able to do if i wasnt in boy scouts! I've gone caving, boating, i've been up on the boundery waters of america and canada (cache lake) i've been a camper and staff member at summer camps (staff is way more fun!)been to international camporees and met scouts from all over the world! learned a ton of skills that i know most of my friends dont know, helped organize all sorts of events and helped other boys advance through their ranks. and the list keeps going! a while ago i was talking to a complete stranger who saw my dads bumper sticker (the whole "proud of my eagle scout" thing, and he struck up a convorsation saying "i was an eagle scout" to which i had to reply "no you WERENT you still are!" he seemed to like that and started asking me questions about my project and other things in scouting i'm glad i earned it, its something that will be with me for the rest of my life!....along with my tattoo!

haha don't worry, i talked to a recruiter the other day up in Chicago, i've got to retake the asvab and score at least a 75 he said if i want a true chance of getting in, and then even after that theres a long wait to get in he said earliest would probably be October of 2011. so homecoming is definitely going to happen! |

Congrats Iman! I was a Scout for many years and loved it. It is amazing how many things you learn as a scout follow you through out your life. |

That will be a big day Iman! You will be amazed at how many times you will find yourself proud of this accomplishment. One day you may even drag a little snotty nosed 11 year old to his first scout meeting. When a scouter finds out you are an Eagle, and says how badly he wishes he had finished his up, it may even make that little youngun proud of his dad too. I'm working on my last shot out of three hoping that he will hang in there like you did. I think that is the biggest hairy wart I've ever seen right under your tat. Rotzaruck! |

Very cool, Reaching Eagle is a great acheivemnt. do you have, I think it is called the DeMaly or the Caltholic Order of the Cross, I a may wrong on that one it has been 50 some years I was a scout reach Life. All the guys I know went on to great things, Air Force and Navy Pilots etc. I have been told the Eagle opened many doors. Great job. |

Grats man. My brother got eagle and I know how tough it is. He learned a lot of stuff from scouts and to this day I still ask his advice on things. |

After you have been out and seen the World, please consider leadership (i.e. Scoutmaster) training with a local troop. Earning my Eagle was wonderful but working with kids and learning with them is the best. |

thanks for all the congratulations guys!!! After you have been out and seen the World, please consider leadership (i.e. Scoutmaster) training with a local troop. Earning my Eagle was wonderful but working with kids and learning with them is the best. i agree with you 100%! right now me and my friend (who got eagle the same time i did, and shared the court of honor with me) are both assistant scout masters in our troop now! and every summer for the past 4 summers i've gone to summer camp as a staff member, and have worked at the pool most summers, and a few weeks at the lakefront (i love water haha) camp is so much more fun being on staff teaching the kids than it is to attend the camp as a camper! |
